Technical Problem:

I have a technical problem that I need your help with please.

Game Version & Patch (incl. publisher):
N/A - Won't Install (and I no longer own the box)

OS & build/SP:
WinXP Professional SP1 (5.1 Build 2600)

Computer, CPU & speed:
(Custom Built) AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ ~2.4Ghz

RAM:
1024Mb Ram

Free HDD space:
107Gb free on my Raid setup (2x Western Digital 80Gb, Striping)

Video (brand, model, driver, memory):
NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT, with driver v6.14.0010.7805 and 256Mb Video Ram

Sound (brand, model, driver):
Realtek AC97 Audio, with driver v5.10.0000.5830

DirectX Version:
DirectX 9.0c v4.09.0000.0904

I read the stickies but I still have the following problem:

Upon installation a "core" file was missing causing the install to permanently stop at 30%. Once installation was aborted, reinstallation, repair and removal became impossible. Also, there was another error regarding the cab2 file. My CD is not scratched at all and I have installed this game 10 times now without problems on this system's predecessors. I know you might not be able to help with a problem of this nature but I'm rather desperate to play this. Thanks for any help at all.

Wath hapens if you copy the cd to your HD and run it from there?

Sounds like the cd is corrupt.
If you have the game installed on an other computer Paradox support may help you.

That, or the CD is a little dirty.

Have you tried cleaning it? If not, use a soft cloth, and gently brush from the center hole towards the edges of the CD. Do not use cleaning fluids, or apply a lot of presure, as this can damage the surface of the CD. Avoid circular motions while cleaning the surface.
