I had several corrupted manual save games recently. Auto saves works fine.
The problem seems the same with what I red in other threads. You manually save the game. Then later loading it, you get the error "SaveGame loading error: Cannot read data from file". Going into the save game folder you find that two out of three files are being created (*.client.2 and *.info). The *.logic file is the one missing.
After that you cannot create any good manual saves. Even if you create a new game.
Solution that works for me. That should temporally fix and make it possible to create manually good saves:
1) Manually backup your save game folder (Location path: ...\Steam\userdata\<userid>\205990\remote\saves\).
2) Steam cloud is disabled for all games.
3) Delete your corrupted save game files. (Location path: ...\Steam\userdata\<userid>\205990\remote\saves\).
4) Close Steam, then delete remotecache.vdf file (Path: ...\Steam\userdata\<userid>\205990\).
5) Open Steam, then start Warlock 2.
6) Load your last save game. Manually saving the game should now work. (*1)
Hope it helps...
Other info:
-(*1)You will notice that all your manual save game are now invisible. If you wish to use them, you will need to use the import button in the "Load Game" screen. First you will need to manually move your save game to the import folder. Finally you should be able to import the save that was not visible.
-Location path (Windows 7):
Save folder: ...\Steam\userdata\<userid>\205990\remote\saves\
Import folder: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Warlock2\import\saves\
Export folder: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Warlock2\export\saves\
-This is the only game that I have problem with corruption.
-I have two mods installed but not activated.
-Steam cloud is totally disabled since it was not possible to deactivate it in Warlock 2 properties.
-My spec:
Windows 7 (x64)
AMD Phenom II X4 965 @3.4GHz Black Edition
Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
16 GB (4x4) G.Skill Sniper DDR3-1600
