Summary

Terrain specialists hired in travel options join court permanently after returning from jounrney

Description

If you go on a journey and hire any "terrain specialist" to make your passage safer, upon return home that character joins your court. Always, without any further cost beyond the tiny hirement fee in the travel option and also *not* depending on extra events.

I can't imagine that this is WAI and believe it is a kind of oversight. The reason: It is an extremly cheap way to get good characters (knights, commanders, court position holders) and therefor taking the challenge out of the process to find good people respectively rendering other, more costs recruitment features superfluos. And even if you don't make use of that exploit potential it at least leads to a court clogged by countless characters.

Steps to reproduce

1. Load my save
2. Setup a pilgrimage to Rome like shown in my first pic; be sure to hire two terrain specialists. Not that you really need them for danger reduction, it also does not play which ones you exactly hire...just be sure to remember their names (you might get different characters even if you go with my crazy choices of desert warrior and jungle stalker). In my example playthrough however the characters in question are named Clotaire de Ridefort and Lubos
3. See the toasts about the two hired characters appearing and check that they have joined the entourage (2nd pic)
4. Start the pigrimage
5. While traveling to destination, being in Rome and on the way back focus on coming back alive and not losing the hired specialists in travel events
6. When having returned home see that you have acquired the two hired characters Clotaire de Ridefort and Lubos as courtiers (rest of the pics). Lubos might not be extra ordinary, but Clotaire brings excellent diplomacy and is at least mediocre knight. For only 4 Gold...
