I was doing a test game with Cuba yesterday and for these tests I joined the Axis. I don't realized what was happening but after a month a popup came and said that USA had anexed Canada . WHAT!!

What has happened ???

When I was joining the Axis , I came "under Attack" by the Allies and so USA try to defend me against bad Allies.

This will also work with Nations like Argentinia or Bolivia , which will join the Axis more often than Cuba

This is a known bug in the USA's Sphere of Influence events; quick fix is to add a check to have USA intervene only if the "attacked" country is non-aligned.
In db\events\ai\usa_sphere.txt:

those lines (in the "NOT = " clause of the trigger) should prevent the strange occurences:

alliance = { country = ARG country = ENG }
alliance = { country = ARG country = SOV }
alliance = { country = ARG country = GER }

(replace ARG with any other protected nation)
