The evening couldn’t have come at a worse time. Nepocian knew that he was in trouble when he had seen the centre of his army fold before Ramiro’s well-trained men at Cornellana Bridge. His army had been decimated, and those that were not killed were too poltroon to stand and die. Ramiro had sent his army out to dispatch any survivors left on the field of battle. Nepocian, injured, saw two officers walk towards him. One of them jabbed him with a sword. A few more jabs followed.
“He’s dead,” said one of them in a hoarse, rough voice
Nepocian remained with his eyes shut for what must have been 5 minutes. Finally, when he gathered the courage to open an eye, he saw only dead bodies. Ramiro’s men had left.

Without thinking, Nepocian ran. He didn’t know where he was going or what he was going to do but he had to survive, he couldn’t die now. Blood ran from Nepocians heels and he staggered towards a group of trees. A party of vultures eyed him greedily. He could see no one, except a group of soldiers heading off into the horizon. Finally, Nepocian collapsed before the tree, too exhausted to run further. He removed his sandals and grabbed his near empty sack. Nepocian then noticed a glint from a while away. It was water.

Nepocian crawled, more dead than alive, to the stream. The water was cool and refreshing, and brought back some life to him. He licked the water onto his dry lips, scanned the surroundings and fell asleep.

This will be my new AAR. It will be played on CK (possibly with Deus Vult), latest patch and with several graphics mods. It will be based around the adventures of the Asturii, and yes, it will be a megacampaign :D

The soldier entered the king's chambers. Ramiro was talking with several tax officials at the time, but was eager to know what had become of this knave who had dared to try and usurp his birthright. Ramiro was short, with long brown hair, blue eyes and dark skin, almost as dark as that of a Moor. He wore much gold and a long robe upon his back. He was a volatile man who would often have fits of anger if things went badly for him.
"Come now, soldier, what has become of my foe?" quoth Ramiro.
"He was killed in the battle, sire, he was struck by an arrow in the heel" said the soldier
"Where is his corpse?" questioned Ramiro.
"Still on the field, my liege" replied the soldier
"What?! Why have you not brought him here? He could still be alive! I demand that you go back and bring his corpse here! You have 6 days, or I will have your hung till you die!" screamed Ramiro.

He jumped out of his chair and smashed his fist on the feasting table.
"Dullards!" he screamed again.
At this moment his son Ordono entered the room. Ordono was 11 years of age, and had a distinctive tone of speech. It was quite the opposite of a stutter... a clutter, if you will. He spoke so fast that the king struggled to keep up with him.
"What is wrong father? I heard you shouting from the kitchen" He spoke at rapid speed. Ramiro was so frustrated that he smacked Ordono across the face
"Go, Ordono" he said, calming down. Ordono left, confused.

Ramiro paced the room.
"We must stop an event such as this ever happening again. I want elective law ended." spoke Ramiro
The soldier looked astounded.
"With all respect, my liege, this would anger the nobles, even to the point of rebe-"
He didnt finish his sentence because Ramiro interrupted him
"I am the king. I will do as I wish"

From 'The Bilbao Chronicles'

As time gnawed at the roots of the Asturian kingdom, the evolution to Leon commenced, and by 910, Asturias had become Leon. Large chunks of Asturias passed to Castile, such as Viscaya. And it was in the Castilian lands that our story begins.

Nepocian's son, Favela, was born in 842. Favela lived as a local landowner, the kings of Asturias being little aware of his heritage. He had 7 children, and passed away in the year of 890 from the belly flux. None of his children are notable, except one: Pelago. Born in 872, he married into a local family in the area known as the De Laras. These would provide the basis for a new dynasty.

By 1066, the De Laras were in control of eastern Asturias, led by a man named Nuno. Nuno now had part of the Asturian Kingdom, and he was determined to seize back the rest from the Leonese thieves...
