(I ended it in 1912 because I kinda got sick of constantly just replacing the building queue... at this point I get it, I'm getting richer and richer to no end so long as a revolution doesn't kill me. xD)
From the 11th to 15th centuries, the Dyula dynasty grew their massive empire off of rich gold mines and powerful elephants. From the 15th to early 19th centuries, it diversified and developed its economy and colonized the New World. But now under the brand new Dawud VIII, the empire faces threats from Byzantium.
To no one's shock, Dawud VIII's reign involved fighting against the Byzantines. He was active in colonizing Africa, especially at the expense of the weak Kanem-Bornu Empire, and five different times he fought off the Byzantine threat, the fifth time managing to capture the Byzantine lands in the Holy Roman Empire, or at least most of them. This was due to significant expansion of the military, including both tech and quality.
As the Industrial Revolution was in full swing, Dawud VIII was heavily invested in expanding Spanish agriculture and industry. The Dyulas' ancestral homeland of Mali was proving more valuable in natural resources than London, so the capital was moved from London to Kindia, and then to Sikasso.
Dawud VIII was a significant legal reformer as well. He is known for abolishing bureaucratic elections in favor of choosing the educated, consolidating a police force, allowing non-landed citizens to vote, establishing primary schools, regulating worker safety, and establishing public health insurance and welfare programs.
Upon his death, his bandit son Swrang took the throne. He is notable for establishing pensions and annexing the Holy Roman states of Frisia and Ostfalen, as well as crushing a Sorbian revolt. However, he did lose control of the imperial puppet at Minsk to revolutionaries.
By the time his son Rupnath took the throne, the industrialization of Isbaniya had driven it to undisputed economic and military hegemony over the rest of the world. But there was one thing he needed to do... Free the government from the influence of the clergy. And with the people begging him to, he did just that.
After roughly 850 years, bringing the Dyulas from local Mande emirs to the greatest empire in world history, what is life like? Currently you'd live under the rule of the 28 year old Padishah-Qaysar Rupnath I of Isbaniya, who keeps with him his warhammer, laminar armor, crown, regalia, and book on the worship of Iblis, all the way from back in the medieval era when his bloodline was young. If you followed his Afro-Spanish culture, you'd speak Maghrebi Arabic, but other cultures have been accepted for hundreds of years. Phones and films have both existed for decades, so it's safe to say computers exist for personal use (at least I'm saying that). Your average person typically goes without clothing unless a job demands it, and even then the bare minimum, as the Maiaist faith stipulates. You'd likely be better educated than people in the rest of the world. Strategy games remain popular, and the elephant is the national symbol.
Unlike the CK3 and EU4 sections of this, I didn't do this in ironman. That is because I'm kind of a noob. This megacampaign essentially taught me how to play Victoria 3 effectively.
