There's a lot of love in this system and a lot of time was spent writing the events, but all of them are cut off before they get started because you can't scroll the event frame. It makes it not really worth it to engage with them because you can only read the introductory paragraph.

Yeah i noticed that..I honestly though that was how the event was meant to be read.. But from what you are saying it should be a lot more to read than it is currently ?

Indeed, maybe they could make some aditional events just with the text, to give a full experience of the city you are going to visit.

Aside that, is a very interesting event-chain.

I haven't checked the code, but at first glance it looks like they are using character_events rather than narraive_events, which has a larger window.

I'm hoping that's all the problem is, because you get really useful bonuses from these events and I'd rather not have to click through a long sequence of purely narrative events once I've already read them once or twice. I had one tour where I gained 2 base Dip and 4 base Mil from the free cities, and another where I drowned in a storm about five days off of Westeros.

I would say crippled is a slight exaggeration....
As for them being character events not narrative events, they are long character events which allow the same text room (ish) as narrative events.
This issue is known already and will be fixed for the next version though don't worry
