    Landet i Hitlers skygge

    Klokken 12:00 Christiansborg Statsministerens kontor.

Statsminister Stauning have called a meeting. The Agenda, how to defend Denmark from a potential German Invasion. The meeting is top secret. The participants in the meeting are
Statsminiser Thorvald Stauning (A) (Prime minister)
Udenrigsminister Peter Rochegune Munch (B) (Foreign minister)
Forsvarsminister Alsing Andersen (A) (Minister of Defense)
Øverste hærchef Erik With (Supreme chief of Army)
    General William Wain Prior (General)

The meeting is classified as Top secret and only authorised individuals are allowed to read the document.
Prime Minister Stauning: Generalstabens efterretningssektion (G.E) have acquired intelligence, that proves that Germany is remilitarizing and preparing for war. The new German regime does not respect Denmarks sovereignty and may invade Denmark, in order to take Northern Schleswig from us. Therefore we must prepare for war, in order to defend our nation. Andersen, what is the state of Denmarks defence capabilities?

Defence Minister Andersen: We have 5 Divisions, they are underequipped, if Germany invade Denmark today, we will not be able to defend Denmark. Therefore we must prepare some defences. We can not mobilize Denmark for war, as our citizens will not support any kind of militarization. But we can focus on expanding Denmarks industry, that will gives us a bigger capability to build fortifications and military factories.,

Foreign Minister Munch: We must be careful, if we provoke Germany before we are ready, they will just Invade us. We must also remember, we can not fight against Germany alone, its army is too big for our small country. If we are going to prepare for war, we must find some allies.

Prime Minister Stauning: Your comment is noted Foreign minister, but I still think it is better to remain neutral and aim for armed neutrality, just as Switzerland. We can just hope Germany will focus on some bigger fish and leave us alone. We still need to make plans to defend against a German invasion.

Army leader With, can you show us the war plands?

Supreme hief of army With: Here it is prime minister. Me and Prior have come up with 3 defence plans. I have written the plans here, I will hand over the documents.

    Forsvarsplaner.png

Black = "Defence" plan Berserk, Red = Defence plan Vogter, Green = Defence plan "Fars bælte"

    Plan Berserk. (Black)

The Plan: The plan is to attack German positions and push them to the Kiel canal and then fortify a defence line along the canal.

    Advantages:
The Keil canal will provide a natural Defence.
    Tanks can't swim.
Prevents the German navy from entering or leaving the Baltic sea, as Denmark will control the Danish straits and contest control of the Keil Canal.
Denmark will retain control of Jutland, which means control of more manpower and industry backing the Danish army.
Can be aborted quickly, if not possible.

    Disadvantages:
Will require an offensive against a superior enemy, which can lead to devastating losses and a quick German counter offensive.
Not possible to fortify the position in Peace time.
The plan is extremely risky to execute, as long as there are German soldiers present at the Danish-German Border.
With the forces committed at the Kiel Canal, there will be few men to defend the ports of Denmark, making the country vulnerable to Naval invasions.

    Plan Vogter

The plan: Fortify the border against Germany and prevent them from taking any Danish territory.

    Advantages:
Fortifications along the border can be build in peacetime.
Denmark will retain control of Jutland, which means control of more manpower and industry backing the Danish army.
Denmark and its potential Allies will still have control over the Danish Straits.

    Disadvantages:
Requires big investments, in order to fortify the Border
German Tanks will be very effective in the Jutlantic plains and fields, which make the line valuable to German tanks.
A wide front, as Germany can invade the Danish ports form the Sea and encircle the Danish army at the defence line.

    Plan Fars Bælte

The Plan: Give up the undefendable Jutland and fortify The eastern part of Lillebælt and make the Danish isles a fortresses defying the German army.

    Advantages:
Great neutral defence due to the Strait between Jutland and Fyn.
It is cheaper to fortify than the German-Danish Border.
German Tanks can not swim, making a German amour offense against the defence line less effective.
Fever ports to protect against a naval invasion.
Will be less provocative towards the Germans.

    Disadvantages:
We will not have access to Jutlantic industry and manpower.
It will not be possible to reclaim Jutland without the help of foreign powers.
Will make the Danish belts contested, making it impossible to leave the Baltic sea
    .

Prime Minnister Stauning: Thank you for the plan With. Let us not go on with plans too quickly. Let us focusing on expanding the Danish Industry and consider what warplan to follow, when the time comes.

With the outbreak of war in Europe, Denmark is at risk to get involved in war, so let us look at current wars in the world

    Asia
    The Chinise-Japanese war.

The Chinese-Japanese war is a close one. China fields a bigger army and have a larger manpower poll, but Japans army is better armed, have naval supremacy. It is still too early to conclude anything. the Chinese industry is around the same size of the Japanese, but most of the industry on Japans side are under Japans direct control, where the industry is split among China and the Chinese warlords.

But as long as Japan is fighting in China, surely they would not attack another nation in the meantime. So the Allis will not have to fear the Japanese, so long as the Chinese keeps fighting the Japanese.
    KINA.PNG

The war in China is still undecided, the Chinese front have pushed a bit into Manchuria, but the Japanese have taken parts of the Chinese coastline

    krig_asien.PNG

The Chinese have suffered significant casualties, but soo have the Japanese, millions have already been killed, captured or wounded to a point where they can no longer fight.

    Europe
    The German-Polish war

War have come to Europe, the Germans want to conquer its former land in the East, Poland wants to defend its territory and independence, while France and the United Kingdom want to contain German expansion. The war have just begun and no one knows how it will end. But we can analyse the sides in the conflict.

    Europe.PNG

The Fighting Powers and their allies. The Axis lead by Germany in Central and southern Europe versus the Allies lead by the United Kingdom in Western and Eastern Europe

As showed on the map, Denmark is right in the middle of the conflict and judging by the German foreign policy, it is wary likely that Germany's neighbours will be dragged into the conflict , which Denmark, unfortunately, is.

On paper, the Allies should be able to win this conflict, they have a larger combined industry, a larger navy, army and the mighty Maginot line and the alps to defend France. Many experts believes Poland will fall, but that the Germans and Italians will not be able to break though the France defensive lines at the Maginot and the natural defence that is the French alps.
    krigen_status.PNG

With the larger army and acces to more raw ressources and a larger industry, many experts expect that the Axis will lose and be taken out, once France and England have time to mobilize.

State of the Danish army 27th of December 1939

Danmark is now at a state of war, a situation it have spend almost 4 years to prepare for. The Army is ready, the economy is now gearing up for war. The defensive positions at the Danish islands are in place and in Jutland partitans are preparing operations to sabotage the German army in Jutland.

But what kind of challenge are the Germans facing? For such an answer, we need to see what the Danish forces are made of.

    The land army

The Danish army is 100k man strong. The army have been reformed and consist of infantry divisions with artillery support. The Danish army have taken lessons from its "partition" in the first world war and have made fortifications, trenches, anti air installations all over the Islands of Fyn, Sjælland, Lolland, Falster, Møn and Langeland. The Danish army is well trained and equipped, but lacks the armour and numbers to launch any kind of Offensive.

    The Doctrine.

The Danish army have a small army and a small industry to back it up, so the Danish high command have implemented the "Grand Battleplan Doctrine". Danish war veterans, that served the German Empire in the First world war, have assisted in the Development of the Danish doctrine. It is based on the trench warfare from the western front in the first world war. It focus entirely on defending the Danish islands long enough so that foreign powers, such as France or the United Kingdom can intervene. But with the evolution of the war, it seems unlikely that the French and British can spare units to defend a small and insignificant nation as Denmark is.

    Doktrin.PNG

The Danes have learned the shovel is the best weapon, as long as it is supported by machine guns, artillery, anti-air guns and anti-tank guns. Combined warfare is a beautiful thing.

    The Divisions

The Danish army have reformed its army structure, it has disbanded its cavalry division, as they do not fit defensive warfare on small islands that well. The Danish army have to kinds of divisions. The new Standard Infantry Divisions, and a Reserve division. The Danish infantry divisions are equipped with anti tank guns and are supported by Artillery and anti air guns. The Danish divisions are trained to dig trenches and capture and use German Equipment.

The Danish army have 7 infantry Divisions and 2 Reserve Divisions that are not fully equipped to the Danish Standard.

    Division_s.PNG

The Danish divisions are well rounded and are equipped and trained to handle most situations.

    division-r.PNG

The Danish reserve divisions are also well equipped to defend against enemy infantry, but have nothing against armoured units and airplanes.

    Landhær.PNG

A short overview of the entire Danish army. Notice the high base entrenchment of Danish forces.

    udstyr.PNG

The Danish army have a decent amount of Equipment to replace losses, compared to its size.

    Danish defensive lines.

The Danish government have prepared for a German invasion for years and have turned the Island of Fyn into a giant fortress. Ready to face a German attack, military observers calls the line "The Danish Magginot line", but unlike its French counterpart, there is no way around it and it does not defend the entirety of the Danish Nation.
The defence line is called "fæstningsbæltet" and it is the only defensive line that have any chance of Defending the Danish islands, there have been made some minor fortifications around Copenhagen to protect the capital from a surprise attack (lvl 2 fort and lvl 1 coastal fort).

There have also been installed anti-air installations around the Danish islands, in order to take down German bombers. A large Airbase, with a capacity of 2000 airplanes have been made near Kalundborg. There were also plans to make radar installations, but there was no time to build them.

Operation Fars bælte have been executed, only time will tell if the plan will work

    Chapter 9 Stirrefronten
  • Chapter 9
    Stirrefronten

The 27th of December 1939: German forces are moving into Jutland, the Germans are surprised that there is no resistance in Jutland, many Germans soldiers are starting to believe the Danes will not resist. In many towns they are just met with angry stares, only the German minority in Northern Schleswig greeted the German army as liberators.

05:00 The 28th of December 1939: Northern Schleswig is now under German control, no fighting in Denmark have taken place. At 15:00 the same Day, Germany have declared war on Norway.

The 31th of December 1939: Jutland is now under German control, the plans to supply the resistance with weapons are delayed for now, as it would be too expensive for the Danish army to use the majority of the reserves in such a risky mission.

The 1st of January 1940: The German army have not yet dared to attack The Danish islands, knowing too well that the Islands are too well defended.

The 8th of January 1940: The German army have now looked over the belt for 7 days, no offense have happened yet. The Germans knows attacking the Danish position would only result in major casualties and the Danish army do not have enough men to launch any sort of Attack. The front is starting to be called "Stirrefronten" (The Starring front) and the Danish defence line is starting to be called "Stirrelinjen" (The starring line) by the locals.

So far no German soldier have died to the Danish army and vice versa.

    1940-01-08.PNG

The Germans are considering how to crack the Danish forts, but for now the Germans are focused on the Western Front.

The 16th of January 1940: Paris have fallen, the French government capitulated the next day. The reason was there was no way they could hold the advancing Germans coming from the north.
    1940-01-16.PNG

This is what 100% capitulation progress looks like. In this round France can only handle losing 30% of its victory points.

The 17th of January 1940: A neutral French state have been founded in the French city of Vichy after the French capitulation. But Free French forces are still fighting and France is now technically in a civil war. Denmark is now the only allied nation that neighbours an Axis nation.

The 21st of January 1940: The Danish Reserves are being mobilised and are now getting the same equipment as the Regular divisions, but just not as trained.

The 16th of February 1940: Due to the lack of fighting, the Danish reserved are now getting trained, so they will be ready to fight as their regular counterparts.

The 27th of February 1940: The Germans have begun the Invasion of Norway, the assault is targeting the cities of Kristianstad and Stavanger.
    1605361913731.png

if Norway falls, the Danes will be alone in the Baltics with no way to escape.

The 2nd of March 1940: The Norwegian City of Stavanger have fallen to Italian Forces, the Axis now have a port they can use to supply their trops as they advance into Norway.

The 20th of March 1940: The Soviet have declared war on Finland, due to the fact Finland refused to give the Soviets control of Karelia.

The 21th of March 1940: As it seems that Denmark can Defend against the Germans, it have been decided to expand the civilian industry of Denmark, in order to assist in construction of more defences in Denmark.

Denmark is also executing a plan to supply Jutlandic partisans with weapons in order to inflict casualties to the Germans behind the lines. The Plan is being executed and it is expected that the mission will be complete early summer.
    1940-03-21.PNG

Let us hope that the weapons will be but in good use.

The 1st of April 1940: French soldiers under British command have landed in Odense, in order to assist Denmark against the Germans. The situation in Norway is also looking more and more grim over time.

The 4th of April 1940: Oslo have been taken by the German army

The 19th of April 1940: The Soviet Union won the Finnish-Soviet War. The Soviets got their war goals but nothing more.

The 10th of May 1940: The Mission to strengthen the resistance in Jutland was a success, the restance is getting countered by the German army taking harsher measures to keep the civilians in line, reducing compliance in the province.
    1605363221685.png

    The Jutlandic resistance grows stronger

The 17th of May 1940: Hungary have joined the Axis powers. Danish intelligence also suggest the Germans are going for a naval invasion of Denmark, just at the Danish capital. But the Germans abandoned the plans when they realised, even the Danish capital is fortified enough to hold against a naval invasion.

The 18th of May 1940: Hungary gets Northern Transylvania as a reward for joining the Axis, because the Hungarians joins the war a few hours later.

The 29th of May 1940: Bulgaria got southern Dobruja from Romania, by permission of Germany.

    1605363507234.png

With all those concessions Romania have given to the Axis, Romania starts to look small.

The 20th of June 1940: Norway capitulated to the German army. Only Denmark remains "fighting" for the Allies in Europe.
    1605363815838.png

The German Empire is growing and have asserted its position in Europe, only the Soviet Union could potentially threaten the new Axis order.

    chapter 10 I Hitlers skygge
  • Chapter 10
I Hitlers skygge kvæles ethvert demokrati.

The 27th of June 1940: Denmark have been a war for 6 months, the only military losses are one Danish airplane that got shot down. The situation have become quite complicated. Germany have conquered Norway in order to secure the iron supply from Sweden. In the meantime Denmark continues its trade with Sweden, the Germans are not able to do any sort of blokade of Storebælt or Øresund, because hidden Danish artillery positions can hit the German ships daring to do a blockade of the Straits.

On one hand the Germans would like to invade Sweden and make a complete blockade of Denmark, but that would disrupt the iron supply from Sweden, at a moment where Germany is arming its forces for Operation Barbarossa. So the Germans have decided to disregard the Swedish trade with Denmark, in order to keep their own trade from Sweden intact.

Life in Denmark is hard, in the occupied Jutland partisans tries to resist the Germans and the Germans are implementing harsher and harsher countermeasures. Everything is rationed and people have to live in fear of the GESTAPO and SS. On the Danish isles, it was decided on the 27th of June 1940 that everything must rationed all fuel and war material have been reserved to maintain and expand the war industry. This goes from concrete, steel, fuel and even wood for buildings every man, from the farmer and workers to the rich elite have been drafted into the expanding Danish war economy. Ironically the Danish society is slowly becoming more and more fanatic and more and more militarized. Propaganda, censorship and forced conscription to military service is the new everyday in Denmark, just like its southern neighbour.

With the increasing militarization of the Danish society a joke spread Denmark: "Hvad er forskellen mellem Tyskland og Danmark? Flaget der bliver hejst" (What the difference between Germany and Denmark? The flag that is being hoisted").

The Danish population still supports the war effort, but no one knows exactly why. Fanatic nationalism? Utter disgust of the ideology of National Socialism? or just plain old will to resist a more extreme oppression of Danish culture political extreme German regime? These are probably not the main reasons, but they do help to amplify the will to resist. The Danes know what the future holds, Total War and tyranny or Total war, tyranny and mandatory German language lessons. It does not matter who controls Denmark, everyone knows too well that the Nazis want to make an example out of the defying Danes, in order to make sure every European knows what will happen, if they dare to defy the will of Hitler. But as long as Denmark controls its Islands, the Germans have to divert troops to make sure the Danes do not do any sort of offensive from their Islands, giving a slimmer hope that Germany one day may be defeated.

But with German supremacy in Europe and the Soviet-German friendship, the Danes hope of freedom weakens. For each day that passes, the memories of freedom, peace and democracy are fading. As the war forces the Danish government Military are forced to make more and more authoritarian and desperate measures, in order to maintain the Danish defences and military production. Denmark is changing. Every day it begins to look like an army with a state, in a desperate attempt to defend against a military juggernaut. Many Danish intellectuals fears that this war will be the death of Danish democracy, as the weight and demands to the war efforts becomes greater and more demanding. The intellectuals have a point, as there are now forces inside Denmark that wishes to take even more fanatical measures beyond what is deemed necessary.

A extremely right wing group called "Dannebrogs vogtere", have begun planning turning Denmark into a militaristic dictatorship with the Goal of recreating "Helstaten", a time when the Danish king also controlled "Schleswig-Holsten", they wish to use the war to realise this plan. Exploit the desperate measures of the Danish government and exploit the Anti German sentiment in Jutland and Denmark.

    1605454487116.png

Only tyranny can thrive in Hitlers shadow, if the war is not soon over, Denmark will soon become the thing it swore to destroy.

    Chapter 11 Den Totale Krig
  • Chapter 11

- Cey Lembcke.

With the Situation in Denmark getting more influenced by the ideas of "Dannebrogs vogtere", the Danish islands are slowly being evolved into a military with a state.. Lembcke is pulling the strings and slowly the Danish state becomes slowly more extreme and militaristic. The sights for victory are lokning slimmer and slimmer. As the Italians are gaining lands in Western Egypt, Palestine and South Sudan. The Suez Canal is threatened form all sides. So the Danish government are preparing even more extreme measures in order to make sure the Germans will not conquer all of Denmark.

The Danish islands are getting more and more fortified with more military installations. The Danish industry is still depends on Swedish imports. And will always do. But the Danish Economy is going into total war, so men that would be in reserves are now reserved into construction of more military installations and factories. The official policy went into effect the 17th of August 1940, at the 19th of November the Women was drafted into the workforce in order to fill the vacuum the military draft have made on the Danish workforce pool. The war industry have been expanded in order to Support the Jutlandic resistance. Because the Danish forces do not need a lot of equipment in Defence, so the weapons are used for the Danish resistance. The effort to strengthen the Jutlandic resistance have been strengthened by "Dannebrogs vogtere", a facist organisation with the end goal of turning Denmark into a fascist dictatorship and restore "helstaten" from 1864.

Dannebrogs Vogtere (DV) are really effective at strengthening the Danish resistance, they spread anti-German and pro-Danish propaganda and supply resistance movements with weapons. As Dannebrogs vogtere support every resistance movement, nationalist, communist and democrats, as long as they have a goal to liberate Denmark from Germany. The extremist organisation are slowly been seen as a by-partisan organisation. Slowly the Danish civilians are being influenced by ideology the DV, due to anti German sentiment and effective pro DV propaganda. Which in turn make the restance movements more organised and homogenized, slowly the Danish resistance movement are becoming a paramilitary branch of DV. The terms of Resistance against German occupation and the DV are becoming synonyms in the Danish language.

    1606044689430.png

"Smeden" and "Forfatteren" are doing well in the mission, as they have an easy time to blend in with the Civilian Danes in Jutland. Spreading DV's influence in Jutland

As the resistance in Denmark become more organized and potent, the Germans are taking harsher and harsher measures to counter the Danish resistance, which in turn makes fewer Danes comply with the German occupation, which make more people inclined to resist.
    1606047051588.png

It is only a matter of time before the Germans can not issue harsher measures.

    1606041744775.png

At the 3rd of July 1940 The British are slowly getting surrounded by Italian forces, it is likely that the Italians are going to conquer Egypt.

    1606042110902.png

Brittish forces managed to surround some Italians in the Sanai peninsular on the 23rd of July, they pocket surrendered 6 days later at the 29th.

    1606043559291.png

The British have not enough forces on the Eastern flank, most of the Allied forces got surrounded the 30th of August and the Suez canal is exposed to advancing Italians.

    1606043741709.png

The Brittish managed to defend the Suez for now, as the Italians did not exploit the breakthrough. but at the 18th of September, it is now the allies that a trapped in Sinai.

    1606043889384.png

The Italians reached the south-eastern shore of the Suez at the 23th of September. The Allies can no longer sails ships through the Suez.

    Events of the World

The 3rd of july 1940: Romania gives Bessarabia to the Soviet Union. Romania have now given away a lot of land and the people of Romania are mad.
The 4th of August 1940: Trotskij did not get an axe in his face in Mexico, so he still lives.
The 17th of October: Italy Declared war in Greece. Denmark is no longer the only nation on the European continent that fights the Axis.

    Ubåde kan da bruges

The Danish Resistance moving is Becomming stronger and more potent, in Jutland figthing between Danish partisants and German military police is getting more and more common. The DV are really effective at strengthening the Resistance. With the Americans joining the war effeort and the Allies gaining control of North Africa, the future looks bright. The year is now 1942. Denmark have been at war for 2 years now.
    1606050187182.png

With the Allies controlling northern Africa. It is going to be difficult for the Axis to supply thier forces in Africa.

Now there is only the task of kicking the Italians out of East Africa.
    1606050724400.png

Italy have managed to take over many parts of east Africa, taking it back will take time.

Ally intel have discovered there are no axis ships in East Afrika, so the Danish Navy's submarines are sent to the Area in order to take out Italian convoys.
    1606050587921.png

The Danes are beginning to contribute to the War, sinking convoys heading to East Africa, where a large portion of the Italian army are trapped.

With the successes of Convoy raiding, the Danes decided, why not make more submarines?
    1606050884105.png

The modern Danish submarine is a effective submarined, equipped with Radars in order to defect its pray.

The Danish resistance is also getting weapons from the DV, the mission almost failed and an agent was forced underground, it will take some time before the resistance can be contacted again.

    1606051585528.png

Close one, but the Mission was still a success.

    1606052487168.png

The amount of convoys the Danish Submarines have taken out.

  • Chapter 13
    Kampen om Oslo

With the Allies invasion of Norway have commenced, the Danish Army have made a quick plan to Attack Oslo and take the air field there, so the Allies can get air supremacy in Norway. The Plan is now being set in Motion but it will take some time before the Danish Forces are ready.

    1942-09-30.png

The Airfield just North of Oslo is the only airfield large enough to support warplanes in Norway.

A liberation of Norway will make the Danes less isolated and give Denmark the possibility to Send forces to other fronts, so the Danes can finally contribute to the war effort. The Invasion is Risky, but Denmark have enough forces to assist with the liberation of Norway. The time have finally come, after almost 4 years of war, the first Danish offensive in the war. To liberate their brothers from German oppression. The plan is know as "operation Broders hånd" (Brothers Hand)

    Operation Broders hånd.

Area of operation = Southern Norway around Oslo.
Objective = Capture the city of Oslo and take over the airfield North of Oslo, then defend the position untill Allies forces reaches the Area.
    Danish Forces = 3 Danish
    German Forces = Unknown.

The 11th of October 1942: The operation is being executed, The Danish surface navy will escort the Danish forces from Copenhagen to Oslo, it is unknown how well the Area is Defended. The Order was executed at 3:00

    1606561745653.png

The Norwegian theatre of war, the Allies have committed a significant amount of forces to the Front.

The 12th of October 1942: Danish forces have begun the Attack on Oslo, the area is heavily fortified but the Germans are not that well organised, the Danish forces are assisted by the Danish air force and the Danish Navy. The Germans have no planes or assistance from the sea.

    1606561997365.png

The Danish army is not designed for a naval invasion, let alone Such a well fortified position. The Battle ended in a failure. But it did diverted 2 German Division in order to repel the Attack.

The 15th of November 1942: Operation Broders hånd was a failure, leaving many dead Danes, but a large portion of the Army managed to retreat.
    1606562147070.png

The first real battle between the Danish and German army, fought in the Capital of Norway almost 4 years after the start of the war, one of the more weird historical facts of the second world war. It ended in a major German victory.

The 9th of November 1942: The Danes makes the second attempt at liberating Norway, this time the Danish forces will land south-west and south-east of Oslo and attack from both Directions, secure the port and then take the Airfield. This is an all or northing plan, if it fails, the Danish army will lose 3 Divisions.

    1606562621921.png

The Second attempt for Liberating Oslo. With a larger force at their disposal

The 12th of November 1942: The Danish forces have now successfully landed on the Coast of Southern Norway and are hastily advancing to the Norwegian Capital.
    1606562995607.png

It seems that the Germans did not think the Danes would dare to invade Oslo, a very strategic port in Norway is undefended.

The 14th of November 1942: The German army made a fast redeployment to Oslo in order to Defend it, thus starting the Second battle for Oslo. The Germans had the Advantage, so the Danish forces suffered a lot of casualties.
    1606563239472.png

The Danish army is running out of supplies, but the Germans have no organisation

The 18th of November 1942: Oslo have been taken by Danish Forces, but at a cost of heavy Casualties compared to the Germans, a strategic victory for the Danish army. The Danish forces though like fanatics, thanks to the industrination of the DP (I used Force attack in order to secure the city)
    1606563448905.png

The Danes have payed a heavy price in order to Liberate the Norwegian capital. But it was a success, proving that the Danish army where willing to make sacrifices in order to secure their opjectives.

The 21th of November 1942: Denmark have secured all objectives of Operation Broders Hånd, now they only need to Defends until Allied forces can arrive.
    1606563700928.png

The Danish army have achived its first victory. With a large Allied army in western Norway, surely the Allies will exploit the fact the Danish army is Distracting a significant portion of the German army in Norway.

The 26th of November 1942: The Danish forces have been pushed back, the Danish and Norwegian "Allies" did not attack when the Germans where attacked

The whole Operation costed 9.600 Danish soldiers, due to the fact the Allies did not push further when Denmark captured Oslo, gave the Danes and to a lesser extend the Norwegians a bitternes to the Allies. So many dead Danish soldiers, died defending Oslo and the whole city was devastated for nothing.
    1606565049427.png

The Germans still control Oslo and the Norwegian front have become evoled into some trecnh Warfare.

    1943-01-01.PNG

The war in Europe have become bigger. The Eastern front will become know as the most bloddy and brutal front of the whole war.

The 2nd of January 1943: British Forces have landed in Rome unopposed, if the Axis do not respond in time, Italy might capitulate.
    1943-01-02.PNG

With the Fall of Rome, the Axis are forced to divert forces from the Eastern front.

The 24th of March 1943: Allied forces have landed in France and have established a significant beachhead near Calis
    1943-03-24.PNG

The Americans failed to establish a Beachhead in Normandy, but it succeeded at Calis.

The 27th of March 1943: American Forces have landed in Friesland.
    1943-03-27.PNG

With more and more Allied forces landing on the Coast of Europe, the Axis are forced to divert more and more forces from the Eastern front.

The 2nd of April 1943: Denmark launches its 3rd Attempt of Liberating Oslo, With Germany fighting the Soviet Union in the East and the Allies in the West, Danish High commands hopes the Germans will be too distracted to counterattack. Denmark is Sending 5 Divisions this time.

The 5th of April 1943: Danish forces have landed unopposed in Oslo, the high commands assumptions where correct and are not advancing in order to seize the Initiative. Before the Germans can organise a counterattack.
    1943-04-05.PNG

The 3rd attempt of Liberating Oslo was the one that succeeded, the Germans where caught off guard for some Reason.

The 17th of April 1943: Danish forces have secured Southern Norway. The Danish forces are still isolated, but German convoys are now forced to transport German supplies through Norwegian coast, where Danish Submarines are ready to face them. The Danish war plan is now to link up with its Allies in the west and capture the City of Trondheim.

    1943-04-17.PNG

The Danish army have trained a lot of more Men in order to liberate Norway, the Germans where surprised the Small nation of Denmark where capable of doing such thing.

The 21st of April 1943: Danish forces attack the German forces along the Southern Norwegian Coast, the goal is to take the province, so the Danish front can be reinforced by the allies
    1943-04-21.PNG

The Battle of the Norwegian coast was a crucial Battle in the Norwegian campaign, historians calls it one of the most Critical battles in Norway.

The 26th of April 1943: The Assault was a succes, but at the cost of heavy Danish casualties, as the "allies" did not assist with the attack from the west, leaving the Danish army even more bitter to thier allies. This bitternes is part of the reason Denmark refuses to declare war on the Soviets.
    1943-04-26.PNG

The Battle of the Norwegian Coast was a battle where Denmark lost a lot of Soldiers, due to the fact their allies refused to attack the German position to the West.

The 9th of May 1943: Trondheim have ben liberated by the Danish forces, the Civilian population greeted the Danish soldiers as liberators, only the City of Bergen is the Last German Holdout in Southern Norway.
    1943-05-09.PNG

When the Danish forces entered Trondheim, the Norwegians greeted them as liberators, many Norwegians where surprised that it was the Danish army alone that freed the City.

The 17th of May 1943: A Danish divisions leaves the harbour of Trondheim, its destination is the German controlled city of Bergen. If the invasion is a succes, the Germans will starve in Norway.

The 23rd of May 1943: Danish forces have captured Bergen with no opposition, the Remaining German Forces in south-western Norway are now trapped.
    1943-05-23.PNG

The Danish have showed how effective they are in Battle, many military observers did not think much of the Danish army, after 2 failed attempts of taking Oslo.

The 25th of May 1943: With the Danish army busy in Norway, the Vichy French army have landed in Denmark, The Danish army defending Denmark responded quickly and the French, was quickly beaten back. They where the first in from the outside world that saw what Denmark have transformed into; An army with a people. Every farmer, every citizen was armed. The French where harassed by Danish partisans in Sjælland. Then the Danish army made a counterattack before the Axis could get a foothold in Denmark.

The fortress isles firt test. The French did not stand a chance against a well trained Danish army.

The 30th of May 1943: The Axis have made a counter invasion of Norway, pushing in from the South, the Danish army is reorganising in order to protect the Ports in Norway form invasions, it is unknown if this effort comes too late. But thankfully the Allies where in the south of Norway.
    1943-05-30.PNG

Just when the Allies thought they have liberated Norway, the Axis strikes back.

The 24th of June 1943: Oslo was saved thanks to the Allies, but the City of Kristiansand was captured by the Axis, given the Axis a beachhead in Southern Norway. The Danish Army moved to southern Norway in order to defend the ports and prevent the Axis from pushing in. Both the Axis and the Danish army suffered from missing supplies due to convoy raiding.

    1943-06-24.PNG

The German have a significant force, but Danish convoy reaiding prevents them from getting the needed supplies.

The 3rd of July 1943: Denmark have been invaded by the second time, southern Fyn have been captured, but with no access to ports, the invaders are stuck.

    1943-07-03.PNG

The Axis second attemp was also a diaster for the Axis.

The 23rd of August: 1943: Stavanger have been captured by Danish forces, the Germans where undersupplied due to Danish convoy raiding. Which made the German army in southern Norway an easy target for a Danish offensive. The Axis still controls Northern Norway, but the majority of Norways population is now free from the Axis.
    1943-08-23.PNG

The Final battle for Southern Norway showed how effective and Deadly the Danish army really are.
With the Liberation of Southern Norway was a collaboration of the Danish army, the Danish air force and the Danish submarine Navy. Many Norwegians saw or head about the effectiveness of the Danish army and how hard they fought to Liberate their brothers, even when when Jutland is still under German occupation, made many Norwegians pro Danish. Many Norwegians cities have made monument to honour the Danish (and allied) forces that fought to liberate Norway from the Axis.

    1943-09-06.PNG

The Political map of Europe 6th of Sebtember 1943. The Allies have almost taken most of Italy, parts of the Netherlands, Belgium, northen and southern France are now under allied control. The Soviet Union have pushed deep into Romania, Poland and have taken all of Prussia.

    State of the war

Just a quick status of the war and how it is going. For those that are interested. It is not the focus on my aar, so I will not go into great detail.

This is how the world look the 6th of September 1943.

    1608618923172.png

    Women in factories = YES
    Civilian factories= 5
    Dockyards = 5
    Military factories = 8
Men lost to war = 43K

    Army
    1608619361318.png

The Danish army still stand strong, small but well trained.

    Navy
    1608619300102.png

The Danish navy was sunked, but the Danish have builded submarines in order to harass German supplies.
    Airforce
    1608619595301.png

The Danish air force is really small, but is still a competent force, as long as they are not contested by superior numbers.

    European Theatre

The Axis are losing a lot of ground in Europe, Southern Norway have been liberated in the North, in the west, the Allies have landed in Benelux and the French Northern coast, in the South The Allied have landed in Vichy France and Italy is at the brink of capitulation (82% toward capitulation).

In the East, a giant army of Soviet soldiers are making gains in Eastern Europe, they have reached the Wisla and even made bridgeheads around Danzig. In Romania, the Romanian capital of Bucharest have ben taken by the Soviets and the Romanian Army is at the brink of capitulation.

It seems it is only a matter of time, before the Red army clashes with the Allied forces.
    1608619672753.png

Remember it is a Axis vs. Allies vs Soviet Union scenario, but Denmark is not at war with the Soviet Union. (Also Turkey is at war with the Allies and the Soviet Union.

    1608619982640.png

The Soviet German war. Notice that the Germany and the rest of the Axis have lost a lot of men, compared to their Soviet counterparts. (2,9M men have the German lost by Soviet hands, compared to 1,4 million lost men to the Germans for the Soviet Union.

    1608620029783.png

The Fascist-Allied war have been Devastating for the Allies, a lot of casualties have been suffered by the Allied Nation.

    Asia
    1608619828972.png

Japan have lost controlled over China, but have managed to get control over some islands in Indonesia.

    1608620063629.png

The Chinese-Japanese war have been a bloody conflict that lasted for a long time, but now that the Japanese no longer control anything in China, the Chine-Japanese conflict have become less bloody.

  • Chapter 16
    Jyllands befrielse.
the 7th of September 1943: Spain Joined Turkey's Alliance.

the 8th of September 1943: Spain Joins the war against the Soviets and the Allies

the 19th of September 1943: Gibraltar have fallen to Spanish forces, the Axis powers now control every entry point to the Mediterranean, the Invasion of Italy is now threatened, as all allied forces in Italy are now trapped in Italy and southern France.

The 11th of October 1943: Romania Have capitiulated.
    1608622572693.png

The Soviet Union are making huge gains and are getting closer and closer to Berlin. Many belive it is only a matter of time, before the Soviet flag is raised in Berlin

The 13th of October 1943: Paris is now under Free French control again.
    1608622680058.png

With the loss of access to the Mediterranean, the Allies have to push fast, if they want to save the Forces stuck in Italy and Southern France.

The 16th of October 1943: Soviet Forces have captured Warsawa.

The 19th of October 1943: With Germans being pressed hard by all sided, they have finally decided loose their Grasp on Denmark. Only a skeleton force are left around Lillebælt. The Time for liberation could be nearby. Danish forces are ordered back from Norway and the Danish forces in Denmark are ordered to prepare an assault on Jutland.

The 22nd of October 1943: The Danish Elections are going to take place as Usual, despite only being possible to be held on the Danish Islands.

The 30th Of October 1943: All Danish forces have returned from Norway, preparing for the Danish liberation of Jutland.

The 2nd of October 1943: DV (Dannebros Vogtere) Have been elected into the Danish parliment, Denmark is now a fascist Dictatorship. DV promised to end the war quickly, so Denmark finaly can have peace again.

The 5th of November 1943: The Orders have ben given, Liberate Jutland from the German oppressors. The Forces guarding the western side of Lillebælt are mere skeleton divisions. The Danish army was ordered to attack and contacted resistance cells that have just waited for the perfect moment, to attack the German Garrison guarding Lillebælt.
    1608623539103.png

A underequipped German division are guarding the Southern part of Lillebælt and 2 Bulgarian Divisions are guarding the Northern part.

    The 6th of November 1943
The German forces in eastern northern Schleswig have been taken out, The Danish forces, lead by veterans on the Naval invasion of Oslo and backed by Jutlandic partisants made short work of the Small German garrision in the Area.
    1608623736276.png

The First Danish victory in the war, that took place in Denmark, a huge success. The liberation have begun.

The 7th of November 1943: Danish forces have entered Kolding, Aabenraa and Sønderborg. The Danish army is quickly advancing in all directions in order to exploit the Breakthrough, before the Germans can send reinforcements.
    1608623990977.png

The Danish doctrine of rapid infantry infiltration are finally but to a real test. Danish infantry are quickly advancing and are wasting no times on victory parades in the Jutlandic cities they liberate.

The 8th of November 1943: All Danish forces have landed in Jutland and are now attacking both to the North and the South. The underequipped and war tired German forces in Northern Jutland is fleeing and surrendering in masses. As they are not only fighting a large Danish army of around 160K men, which is well know to be the most dangerous of the Allied armies to face, but also fighting a lot of Danish partisans, that have started attacking and harassing German forces, on an even larger scale than before. The Jutlandic resistance have provided a lot of critical intelligence of German positions equipment and their current morale. Making the Danish liberation of Jutland one of the quickest victories in the Danish army's history.
    1608624461383.png

Danish forces managed to engage Germans in Aarhus that was trying to evacuate, preventing 5 surprisingly well equipped divisions from retreating to the German Mainland. The Germans where clearly not prepared for such a Quick offensive from the Danish army.

The 15th of November 1943: Jutland is now liberated, with the only exception being the islands north of Limfjorden, where the German forces have retreated to, in order to make their last stand in Denmark, to the South the Danish forces managed to seize the initiative and have captured the German city of Hamburg and Lübeck. Making an excellent defensive line. The Allies have now finally access to the Baltic sea, through the Kiel Canal.

    1608624855572.png

Denmark is almost liberated again, only a small pocket of Germans are still fighting in Denmark.

The 20th of November 1943: Skagen have been liberated and a lot of Germans have either died or surrendered to the Danish forces, some of the Germans have reateated to Hanstholm, the last Bunkerinstallation still under German control in Denmark.
    1608625098091.png

16 thousand Germans surrendered in Skagen, many Germans are getting tired of war and dealing with partisants.

The 24th of November 1943: The last German forces in Denmark have surrendered, it is now only the Island of Bornholm, that is under German occupation. All Danish forces are ordered to the Southern front, in order to take as much German territory as possible, before the Germans organise a Defense on the new Northern Front.

The 8th of December 1943: Stettin have been captured by Danish forces, the Last German port in the Baltic sea. The Danish forces have also pushed all the way to Berlin, where the Germans finaly managed to orginise a Defense, of their City. (The Soviet captured Bornholm, before I noticed it)

The 19th December 1943: Berlin have been captured by Danish forces. It costed many Danish soldiers their lives to capture the German capital. But it gave a lot of prestige to the Danish army. Danish General Wain Prior lead the Assault against the German forces in Berlin. The fighting was brutal, street by street combat, but the Danish army was too well trained and equipped to combat everything the German had in the City.

Winston Churchill congratulated the Danish army, for almost singlehandedly capturing the German capital, without any support from its allies. he quoted "Danes do not fight like heroes, heros fight like Danes."

It was rumored that the Soviet Leader, Josef Stalin, was furious that Berlin was taken right under the Soviet nose. But Wain Prior famously said. "If it was not for the sacrifices and and achivements of the Soviet Union and the Red army, Denmark would never had a an opportunity to capture Berlin. There fore this is not just a victory for the Danish army, but also for the Red army. Therefore this city will not only raise the Danish flag, but also the flag of the Soviet Union."

The quote from Prior was later retold by Danish leader Frits Clausen, stating that the Danish conquest of Berlin, was not just a Danish victory, but a victory shared by the hard work of the Danish and Soviet workers and Soldiers, unified in order to Defeat the Fascist imperialist. Churchill (UK) and Roosevelt (USA) was furious that the Danish state are now aiming for friendly relations with the Soviet Union, a war enemy. But they could do nothing about it, as many allied Soldiers see the Danish army as war heroes, because Denmark is the only Nation on mainland Europe, that is not the Soviet Union, that did not capitulate to the German army and now these heroes stand in Berlin. A war with Denmark would be hard to justify for the Allied leaders, as a lot of war propaganda from the Allies have been about the bravery of the people of the Fortress isles and the fact that many allied soldiers cheered when they herd the Danish army captured Berlin.

    1608625943014.png

The Danish capture of Berlin, was a shock to many military observed, many expected the Soviets or the combined allied forces to win the Race to Berlin. But the Fortress isles struck the German titan last. Right in its capital.

    Hitlers Fald.

With the Danish conquest of Berlin, the Allies making gains in the west and the Soviet Union pushing with a large army in the East. It is only a matter of time, before the Axis powers will be forced to capitulate.

The 1st of January 1944: The Soviet Union have cancelled the Non aggression Treaty they had with Denmark.

The 4th of January 1944: Danish forces attempt an assault on the now fortified German positions, in order to encircle up to 3 German Divisions
    1608790315113.png

With Germany lacking strength and is now resorting to recruit untrained soldiers and underequipped divisions, they stand no chance against a well trained and well equipped army, with superior numbers in the local battle.

The 6th of January 1944: A breakthrough was achieved on the western Flank, The German flank is now attacked in 2 directions.
    1608790376142.png

The Danes have studied the art of modern war in the Fortress isles, using breakthrough tactics before only seens with tanks, done only with infantry, artillery and air support.

    1608790398845.png

Under the right conditions, the Danish army could really inflict a lot of casualties to the German Army.

The 9th of January 1944: Denmark succeeded in Surrounding 3 German Divisions thank to coordinated attacks on the flank and delaying attack on the center, in order to prevent the Germans from escaping. A German Division of 10.000 men have already surrendered due to low Morale.
    1608790556457.png

The Danish forces lead by Wain Prior are showing the world how to defeat an Enemy in detail. (To be fair, the Germans are underequipped and really tired of war)

The 13th of January 1944: The German pocket have surrendered, the German army now have 20.000 fewer men in their ranks. The Danish forces are now beginning an offensive towards the Saxon city of Dresden.
    1608791181221.png

Due to the Danish breakthrough, there are holes in the German Line and the Danish army always try to exploit that fact, because the Germans are at this time, now strong enough to launch any sort of offensive.

The 21 of January 1944: Dresden is now in German hands, the offensive turns west towards Leipzig, in order to deny Germany access to the Saxon industry.
    1608791401308.png

The German army is spread too thin to Launch any sort of counter offensive, which the Danes exploit to the Fullest.

The 24th of January 1944: Saxony is now in Danish hands Giving Denmark Access to all the industry in the State (11 civs, 8 mil, and 2 synths)

The 9th of February 1944: With the Conquest of Brandenburg and Saxony, an opportunity have arrived, to the West few Germans are defending their Eastern flank. Wain Prior have ordered all his men to concentrate, in order to do a large coordinated offensive, in order to trap a large portion of the German army in Thüringen.
    1608792014609.png

With the unwillingness of the Allies to further Attack the Germans, due to the War with the Soviets, the Danish army have to take action.

The 19th of February 1944: The Danish offensive is starting to show signs of success, the Germans have not started to retreat yet and the Germans are really weak.
    1944-02-19.PNG

The Danish strategy of having a main strike force of storm troppers with smaller forces doing delaying actions to the flanks have showed to be really effective against a weakened enemy.

The 25th of February 1944: The Danish offensive in Thüringen was a success, 17 Germand and 2 Bulgarian Divisions are now trapped in a pocket, further weakening the German War effort.
    1608792499710.png

It is only a matter of Time, before the pocket surrenders, the Germans have lost the equipment needed to launch any sort of offensive a long time ago.

The 16th of March 1944: The German pocket of Thüringen have been cleared, Germany have now lost a million soldiers to the Danish army. Denmark have only lost 82.000 men in battle.

The 21st of March 1944: Nürnberg have been captured by Danish forces, on offensive southward towards the last German coreland have begun.
    1608793439786.png

If München and Innsbruck could be captured, that will trap the German forces in southern Germany and it will trap a lot of Germans.

The 30th of March 1944: München have fallen and The Danish are advancing Towards Salzburg, Innsbruck and the Swiss-German Border.
    1608793765355.png

With the German Front in the South collapsing, the Danish army might split what remains of the German Reich in 2.

The 4th of April: The Germans managed to halt the Danish offensive. Germany have a small corridor towards South-West Germany yet. The Danish army have been ordered to halt their offensives and reorganise. But the German state is still at the werge of Collapse, with years of brutal warfare, the loss of Northern Germany and Millions of dead and captured German Soldiers. The Germans have become delusional and are starting to desert and there are a lot of revolts, only a few major cities are left, before the Germans will capitulate.
    1608794067209.png

The Danes have Almost isolated the German State of Baden-Würtenberg, but the Germans managed to stop the Danes in the Mountains.

The 27th of April 1944: Stuttgart have been captured by Danish forces. The Day after the Germans capitulated and the Spoils of war was shared between the Victors.
    1608794683632.png

The Frontlines of Europe, before the Capitulation of the Axis powers.

The 28th of April 1944: After the Axis surrendered Europe look like this. Italy, Germany and Austria are now Democratic Nations. Germany lost Memel and Schleswig Holstein in the Peace treaty. Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Transylvania are now communist states under the Soviet Union.

Denmark have been kicked out of the Allies, due to their "fascist" tendencies, their refuals to return Schleswig Holstient to the now Democratic Germany and because of their Refusal to fight against the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union have returned Bornholm, due to the Fact Denmark did not declare war on the Soviets and in return, Denmark will give the Soviet Union unrestricted Acces though the Kiel Canal and the Danish straight, promising that the Soviet ships will not be inspected, as long as they just pass through Danish waters.
    1608794758442.png

For Hoi4 peace deals, this is not that bad. But France is still messed up.

The 6th of May: The United Kingdom invited Denmark into the Allies again, they offered recognition of the Danish control of Schleswig Holstein in return for the Danes to join their war against the Soviets. The Danes refused, as they are tired of war and their nation is devastated by war, especially in Jutland and Schleswig Holstein.

    Danmark-Norge.

    7th of May Moscow.

The Danish Leader Frits Clausen have entered the Kreml in order to make a secret seperate peace between Norway and the Soviet Union. He is speaking with Stalin himself. After the successfull negotiation over the return of Bornholm to the Danish state, Clausen hopes he can save Norway from Further bloodshed. As the Soviets have gained control over Northern Norway and are fighting the Allies over there.
    1610636725945.png

Battles over Norway are still ongoing, the Red army against the Allies.

They entered the Room where Stalin and Molotov was on the Opposite side of the Room. the mood was tense and the room was cold, it was 2 Nations, the Soviet bear and Tiny Denmark. The Soviet Army is big and could easily invade Denmark, if it was not for the Allies.

The Situation was the Soviet had many Enemies and few Friends, the Allies outnumbered the Red army in terms of industry size, size of army and Navy. The Soviets where interested in weakening the Allies and Clausen knew it. His goal was to Annex the entirety of Norway, but with Soviet control of Northern Norway, that was not possible without the consent of Stalin. The Soviet also had interest in Norway, as control of Norway, could give the Soviets big influence over Scandinavia, but it would also mean another front where the Allies could attack the Soviets.

Clausen knew he had support from the Norwegians, with the liberation of Oslo still in the memory of many Norwegians and the impressive battles and sacrifices the Danes made, in order to liberate Norway. Have created a wide pro-Danish sentiment in Norway. The Norwegians where also tired of war and was disillusioned that their Exile government declared war on the Soviets, in order to defend Turkey, a Nation they are also at war against.

    The secret Meeting began.

Clausen (Danish leader): Comrade Stalin, It is good to see you again, without the great sacrifices of the Soviet people, the Danish people would have been under the Boot of the German fascist. But yet, the struggle is not over. The "Allies" decided to defend a fascist nation, that is also fighting against themselves.

Stalin: Get to the point, what do you want?

Clausen: Norway under Danish control. Due to the Danish army liberation of Norway and the incompetence of the Allies, many Norwegians have become pro Danish and wishes to become part of Denmark. But sadly the Norwegian "Government", puppets of their masters in London have forced them to declare war on the Soviet Union, against the will of the Norwegian workers.

We have contacts in Norway, that is willing to make a separate peace with the Soviet Union. Which will mean a front less for the red army to Fight imperialist. Of cource the illegitimate Norwegian government have inflicted great losses to the Soviet Union and we will of course pay for the Damages that have been inflected.

Stalin: So you want us, the Soviet Union, to give up our conquest of Norway? Just to appease your imperialist desires? I know you are a fascist, the only difference between you and Hitler, is you are smart enough not to oppose the Soviet, don't make the same mistake as Hitler.

Clausen: I will offer 10K infantry equipment, 1000 artillery pieces and 500 convoys in compensation and of cource continued unrestricted access in and out of the Baltics and we will also block all allied naval traffic that tries to Enter the Baltic, so the Soviet Union is the only great Power in the Baltic

Stalin: The only reason we will accept this Deal, is because we need to focus everything to deal with the Imperialist, if you demand more concessions again, that will be the ruin of the Danish-Soviet friendship.

Clausen: We will demand no more from the Soviet sphere, we only want to liberate our Norwegian brothers from the "Allies". We will remember the goodwill of the Soviet Union and it will not be forgotten.

    The Agreement was signed.

    1. The Soviet Union and Norway will cease hostilities, with no border changes.
    2. All Allied Forces and Soviet forces have to leave Norway
    3. The Norwegian State will leave the Allies and declare Neutrality.
    4. The Danish State will occupy the Norwegian State, in order to ensure a peaceful end of conflict in Norway.
    5. If The Allies do not accept peace between Norway and the Soviet Union, Denmark and Norway will join the War on the Soviet Side.
    6. The State of Norway and Denmark will repay the Soviet Union of Damages from the war.

    02_land_lease.PNG

The equipment send to the Soviets, as part of the Deal.

The Soviet Union secretly hoped the Allies would not accept such deal. But The Allies did not want Denmark as an enemy over Norway, withdrew from Norway. The Allies knew, that Denmark could be a vital Ally and they knew Many of their Soldiers would become dissident if they where going to fight the feared Danish army. That gave the German casualties of 1 Dane for every 10 German. But the primary reason was, they knew Control of Norway is not vital, to the war effort and a Hostile Norway would trapped a large portion of the Allies armies, which are better spend fighting the Soviets on mainland Europe Anyway.

So the 9th of May. Denmark-Norway was reborn, from the Ashes of a war. Which was also the day the Newly independent Austria voted to re-join the German State.
    1610641001392.png

The Re-Union of Denmark-Norway was a great achievement for the Danish State and could set the precedence of a United Scandinavia in the future, but the Authoritarian tendencies of the Danish regime prevents that for now.
