If it has been months it's very likely some mods you are using have broken and potentially haven't been updated or have become incompatible with each other. Some basic modding troubleshooting:

1. Run your save with --disableModding enabled via Steam. This removes access to PDX Mods entirely & will allow you to see if it's the game or any custom content that's causing the error. If you can load up a new map with --disableModding enabled, the error that you're having is caused by the custom content you have downloaded.
2. Unsubscribe from all mods and start adding them back in one-by-one, paying attention to their version requirements, dependencies & probably their comments to note if others are having issues.
3. If you've used Asset Packs Manager [Beta] we've noticed that you sometimes have to manually remove files from %Appdata%/LocalLow/Colossal Order/Cities: Skylines II/CustomAssets to reset the mod.
4. If you previously used local/non-Paradox Mods mods, ensure that all files related to those mods have been removed.

YouTubers will be meticulous with the mods they choose & are likely very familiar with troubleshooting, incompatibilities, & all the extra bits that go into modding your game with user-generated content. I can imagine it doesn't make great content to show in a video though, so we don't get to experience it with them!
