Chapter 1: Expansion

March 12, 1938

This was how they celebrated with great joy the awaited Anschulss, the first step to unify the Germanic peoples under one Reich.

September 30, 1938

The Munich Agreement were approved and signed during the night of September 30, 1938 by the heads of government of the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany with the aim of solving the crisis in the Sudetenland.

1. Germany occupies the Sudetenland (October 1938)
2. Poland occupies Zaolzie, an area with a Polish minority (October 1938).
3. Hungary occupies border areas (southern third of Slovakia and southern Ruthenia Transcarpathian), with Hungarian minorities (November 1938)
4. Transcarpathian Ruthenia received autonomy.
5. In March 1939 the remaining Czech lands in the satellite become part of the German Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
6. With the rest of Czechoslovakia, Slovakia is created, becoming another German puppet

april 3, 1939:
Diana presents to the german high command the Weissplan, the follow plan to the invasion of Poland.

August 23, 1939:

Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact: The treaty contains clauses of mutual non-aggression and a commitment to peaceful settlement of disputes between the two nations. To this was added the intention of strengthening economic trades and mutual aid.

However the agreement also contained a secret clause (only for knowledge of the leaders of both governments and not disclosed to the public) where the Third Reich and the Soviet Union virtually defined the division of central eastern Europe and the limits on the German and Soviet influence, by mutual agreement, determining that Poland would be an "influence area" that would be shared between the two states, while the Soviet Union make that Germany could recognize in Finland, Estonia and Latvia as areas of Soviet interest and later, Lituania. Also undertook to consult on matters of common interest and not participate in any alliance formed against any of the signatory states.

This agreement was recived with hostility by France and Britain.
