War has been long overdue for a rework. I would very much like to see the following improvements:
- Individualized wars
- Ability to join wars in progress
- Ability to negotiate out of a war with the consent of your allies
- Ability to negotiate out of a war without the consent of your allies
- Ability to decline to join an ally's war, breaking any associated treaties
- Prevent forever wars caused by unachievable war goals
- War score should more accurately reflect an empire's ability to fight, and the AI should more readily surrender when it's apparent that it's lost
- War score should more heavily weight occupation and value systems by their economic value rather than a flat percentage.
- Planets and Megastructures should be valued significantly higher than empty systems.
- Calculate occupation relative to the empire(s) being targeted by the war goals, rather than of all opposing war participants.
- An entire federation should not need to be occupied to vassalize a single member.
- More flexibility for capturing planets
- Ability to not integrate planet or pops
- allow population to become refugees
- allow population to become pre-FTL empire?
- Ability to genocide a planet without integrating it
- Manage through situation?
- Ability to resettle all pops without integrating planet?
- Allow some to escape as refugees?
- Manage through situation?
- Ability to not integrate planet or pops
- Fewer fleets
- Reduce end game lag caused by fleets
- Simplify management of end game fleets
