Hello, I did not see any immediate threads for it and I know the scenario is not finished but I would like to discuss strategies and possibly fixes to the Ninepenny Kings Scenario.
I always play as Maelys the Monstrous(since I can't play goldentongue in Tyrosh even though I have the republics installed). I had previously thought playing as Daemon Blackfyre was the hardest "interesting" character in one of the scenarios, but I know find playing as Maelys is much more interesting, with many options, however all of them doom to failure. My first few playthroughs, I stuck with the much larger Tyrosh army, thinking we would be easily able to crush the Crownland armies. However, Tyrosh lands in absurd places and does not follow my armies even though I am leading the war. Oh, and four paramounts all combine their forces in King's Landing, making it impossible to take. Aegon the Unlikely seems to be the only one to raise enough ships to even land anywhere else however. I thought I could take advantage of this, so I decided to stay in my much larger holdings in the disputed lands, sure enough I won all the battles too the smaller to moderate or equal forces landing, however my "ally" tyrosh still lands pointless landings and drains our warscore to the point where it's impossible to win. I usually find that the Red Lion always joins my side, when he eventually wins against Tytos... However he does not add much as we are completely seperated and his armies are routed out by whatever Lord Paramount joins the king later on.
I eventually grew so frustrated that I knew I would lose I wanted to secure as much of my friends as possible, therefore I went after Lys and Myr thinking I get could some more allies like goldentongue. However, it appears even though I helped them secure their throne I cannot call them to war whatsoever. This makes securing my compatriots thrones useless, and makes me wonder why the Tyroshi is even fighting alongside me. I think the nine would have much rather take over other crowns before attacking their biggest target out of no-where, right? Unless it was an attack by the Iron Throne, so shouldn't they be the aggressors? I just find that this scenario is impossible for the other side in any circumstance. Thoughts?
