Well folks, i;ve decided after weeks of lurking, that i would take a chance at an AAR, and picked New Zealand, because it seems like an interesting country to make an AAR out of.

Objectives : Send expeditionary force to fight on North Africa/France
Be able to counter a Japanese thread in the islands with a decend navy etc.

Will be playing Normal/Normal difficulty.
Mods : New World Order 3.1

Btw, if you know any site with any cool NZ troop's pics, plz PM me or contact me on FrostDeac.

I'll be starting this up on Sunday most likely, lets see how it'll go!

August 25th the government decided to step up production of the 8th Infantry Divisions in direct relation to growing threat in Europe of Germany.

September 30th- From Germany comes news of the new Munich Treaty. This allowed Germany to have the Sudaten Line while leaving Czechoslovakia completely out of the negotiations. Due to this, they refused to give it up, and Germany quickly backed down and did not wish for a war. For now their seems to be an uneasy peace.

January, 1939

It has now been 3 years since the “New Deal” under President Savage was started. In those 3 years , we have seen rising aggression in Asiatic and European theaters.. Our land and naval forces have grown to a respectable amount. With a world war seemed to be in the not so distant future, this year can literally change the lives of billions of people. We hold our breath, and hope democracy can hold against the tyranny and oppression of Fascism and Communism In these coming years.

INDEPENDENCE GUARENTIED

From our offices in London, we have received word that Poland has been granted independence if Germany invades her, and has joined the alliance. With this, it seems the balance of power in Europe has been tipped back in favor the allies, for the time being.

August 24th, a Day to live in infamy.

Today, in Moscow and Berlin, Hitler and Stalin have signed the Molotove-Ribbentrop Pact, in which if Poland is invaded, they will carve it up amongst themselves. While Russia claims it is the rightful ruler of the Baltic states.

And today our navy has grown, with the completion of 2 Destroyer flotillas, capable of escorting our transports, or our cruisers

Latvia is ceded to Russia, as per Russian demands.

WAR!

On this quiet day of August 30th the Forces of Germany and her allies, have declared war on Poland after Poland reportedly attacked a German radio station. These reports are unconfirmed and are doubted to be truthful. In any case, the allies have declared war on Germany and her allies, as per the Polish Independence treaty (signed earlier this year). This statement was released by the president earlier today.

“We will not stand for this unnecessary act of war, and we have sent the 1st Cavalry Corps to Africa as we speak. As of now, rationing will begin again and supplies and new infantry divisions have began. Also, I have declared a state of emergency, and have re-instated the draft.

Lord help us though this , our darkest hour.”

Combat

The Wellington Times

Today, we have news from our embedded reports in the Cavalry Corps!

"Today in early Novemeber we landed in Africa, the SAS wont let us say where, but we can tell you that we have arrived on North Africa. Unfourntunatly, not everyone ahs made it. It appears that we took minor casualies in a probing manuver on the 17th to check italion forces.

British high command has deemed out uses here "unnessessary" and has sent us north to fight in France."

Sometime in February.

"We are now stationed on the Maginot Line near the city of Colmar. French troopers are in dissaray after several stunning vicotries by the Germans as they sweapt through neutral Belgum and Netherlands. As of right now, we are the only troops stations in this sector, and the men doubt how long they can hold."

And we recieved this shcoking report on the 27th, the last recorded transmission from Colmar.

"Disaster today at .......... have broken in ............. cannot hold the line any longer.Panzer divisions have smashed through the outer.......... and we cannot stop them. ......... has recalled the divisions from out positions. Over ........ divisions spotted. God be with us."

It is our saddness to report, that the cavalary corps has been confirmed to have been destoryed defending Colmar to the last man, we shall never forget these brave men.

Axis in the Pasific!

On May 27th, the Imperial Empire of Japan formally joined the Axis. With this, plans were immediadly drawn up to bring the war against the axis, and curb the newb of vicotry after victory of the axis forces.

On october 10th, the fleet left port, sailing north, nobody knows where they are going except the president, and chiefs of navy and army.

October 20th, troops started disembarking for the marshall islands, and soon landed. The Japanese fought to the last man, and inflicted casualties, but on November 6th, the island was declaired secure to allied forces.

After that, a string of islands were taken from the Kwajaein , bikin, Palikiu and Truk islands were all taken by January 24th.

A picture from our war corapondantes after a battle in the Marshall Islands.

On the 26th of february, the Navy of New Zealand was able to drive several ships of Japan's into port. Nearly a day later, ANZAC troops landed and secured the island, and captured the ships. All 5 ships ( Yubari, Isuza, Sendas, Abakuma, and Jintsu) were built before any hostilities and were soon adopted into the navy for use against their previous owners.

On the 30th, the navy and armed forces captured several more ships, including the old battlships Nagato, and Hyusa.

Disaster

On the 8ht of March, off the coast of the Bonin islands,New Zealand's fleet was ambushed by Admiral Yamamoto. No combat ships were able to flee, as they made a rearguard action untill the transports could safely dissengage, but by that time, the last ship standing, the Leander, the flagship of the New Zealdner navy, was broadsided by vollys of fire, and brought down.

Admiral Stutten was reported to be "weaping tears of rage" as he watched his ship burn untill it completly sunk.

The Leander as it sinks.

From March 11th untill May 26th, the entire 2nd NZ Expeditionary force was trapped on the Island and could not escape from the blockading Japanese Navy.

Soon after, all men were evacuated to the home island until new cruisers could be drawn up and built, the first of them, the Leander. Plans are for to have the Navy effective within 1 year.

The Wellington Times

March 11th, after deliberations in Washington, the United States saw fit to join the fight against tyrany and oppression throughout the world. The army is soon expected to mobalize. *

February 16th, at this time, Admiral Stratton has said that the navy is "fullly combat ready" with the complection of 3 basic cruisers, along with 4 flotillas of destroyers. Combat missions are expected to start soon.

On September 30th, the NZAF (New Zealand Air Force) launched its first combat raid in british made escort fighters and naval bombers, the pilots while green, had been trained in London by veteran RAF pilots.

By october 2nd, the cruiser Nachi, and the carrier Rvajo (spelling) were sunk after several sorites blown by the bombers and fighters. The Air Force allready has 2 Aces to be proud of.

Edward Blundell , a fighter pilot in no.1 Group has been recorded to have shot down 3 Jap Torpedo Bombers as they scrambled to get off their burning carrier. And William Perry is reported to have laid the last bomb that blew the Nachi sky high with a direct hit to her ammo dump inside.

From their first sorties to now, in January, dozens of capital ships have been sunk due to precisiion air bombing raids. And any Jap. ships still in action are in port repairing, or conserving badly needed oil.

May 21'st, scouting ships reported a large japense fleet moving for Guam, NZAF planes scrambled to meet the enemy, and it turned out to be 4 destroyeres and a dozen transport floitillas. Pilots reportadly said it was a "turkey shoot" as they strafted and bombed the transports mercilessly.

One pilot after flying 10 sorties in 5 days, simply broke down from the useless slaughter and sat in his plane crying for 3 hours.

Foreign News

Over the years, germany has crushed the allies, and several minor countries. Iraq is gone, and persia is contested for by the british vs. Germany while the middle east is being over run by german fast moving forces.

In the soviet union, battered and weary, soldiers hold the line as best as they can from their position of the Ural Mountains and pray for a miracle.
A Daring Raid

On in early August of '44 a plan was formed, a raid to boost allied moral, and help crush the Japanese. We'll release more information when we have it.

Fight Taken To The Enemy!

In a bold move New Zealand troops have landed, and taken Taiwan, today August 27th. The president released this statement.

"Today, the Imperial Empire of Japan has lost ground that was their since before the war. For the first time, the fight is now on his soil, and we will continue to fight untill the day comes that Japan falls. No matter the odds, democracy will reign supremem in this world."

September 13th, a day that will live in infamy.

X-Day

Our embedded reporters in the 1st division tell us that they have made landings on the southern most Japanese Home Island, you read right , the Japanese Home Island's. The fighting was fierce, but they have secured the island.

November 27th, thousands of men answer the call for the formation of 4 milita divisions. they are reported to be allready sailing for the Japanese Islands right now.

Christmas in Japan

The front, remains quiet right now, as storms rage overhead. in the New Zealanders line, chrimas carols are being sung, and impromtu christmass trees are being made. Or for the most part, the few tree's not wrecked from savage artilllery bombardments.

Major Pitched Battle for southernmost island.

In a extreme gamble, NZ forces left the island, except for the 4 militia divisions, and a lone regular infantry division. The 9 remaining divisions then landed in Hiroshima, and quickly marshed for the second most island (whos forces were currectly engaged in the furtherest southernmost island.

The militia and infantry divisions fought bravely, standing up to 10 Japanese infantry divisions, and the cream of the crop, 2 marine divisions. They all fought to the death, with their route of escape cut off.

With this smashing defeat, the remaining divisions moved northwards to hold Hiroshima after recieving warnings of an impending Japanese attack.

The divisions arrived less than a day before the Japanese attacked. What followed was seen to be the most crutal fighting of the entire world war. In 2 weeks, over 25 divisions were mauled in savage street fighting around Hiroshima and its suburbs.

But the line held. stories have been pouring in from the front of bravery. Among them is that of the remaining 9 men of a company holding the battalion command post against several japanese company, untill they ran out of ammo. At that point, the one wounded man went back with a simple message "Situation impossible, Japense to breaking through, shell our position."

All 9 men have been post-humously awarded the Victoria Cross (the wounded man later died of his wounds)

Between June to August the entire Northernmost Japansese Home Island was embroiled in combat as milita divisions took it and held against numerous counter attacks.

What will be done to break the current World War 1 -esq stalemate in Japan now, nobody knows.
