I think I watched about all 4+ hours of You Tube on this one.

My questions is about the OTHER WORLDS that are in the Setup screen.

I think I heard at least one player state that the OTHER WORLDS are the same as the world you are playing on. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on that?

For example, if you NEVER went into the OTHER WORLDS, what would happen?

Can your forces and enemy forces shift back and forth between the worlds?

I am DEFINITELY getting this one.

As far as I know, the other worlds are accessed through portals, and there are very strong monsters there that can come through the portals to the "normal world". There are several types of these worlds, like a lava world, an ice world and so on. You can't found cities there, and there are gods there that you need to defeat to fulfill one of the victory conditions.

But I'm not in the beta, so don't quote me on that. If someone with more knowledge than me reads this, please correct me where I'm wrong.

If this is true, it's (at least in theory) great, because it adds another layer of goals to accomplish that are still integrated fully into game design.

If you cant found cities there and if those realms are as big as a "normal" realm then that would mean a lot of travel for units...especially when there are more outer realms...hmm i need some boots of speed, actually a lot of them.

You find these portals quite far away from your starting position to either direction. Once you get far out, there's quite many of them. The portals will take you to different worlds, and those worlds will as well hold portals further "down". Be aware, entering a portal is a hard task. They are usually guarded by those elemental units and while in the new world, you will encounter far more superior units than silly rats and spiders =)

Yes, my ranger unit just discovered that the other night. Alas, poor fellows, I barely knew ye. ;)

So if you go into these portals and there are no friendly or enemy cities, then it is just combat only? You just send in as many units as you can, and then fight through it?

Not sure how fun that can be in a turn based game, but that is fine.

Now if you could build cities and organize and arrange your forces and production amongst those different worlds, that would be more interesting especially if the goal is to one day transition to multi-player. I mean, think about it.., you are kicking someone's butt in one world and then you jump in a portal and find that you are way behind the eightball., so you must retreat and build up in another one of the worlds.., transfer forces.., etc..,

No matter, I am really pysched up about this one.., I think I will just take a zero on the Other Worlds if it is just fighting things.

You can send in "settlers" into the underworlds (as I call them), However - I am not sure how the AI works, if they can send in settlers too or if you are alone down there (still quite the challenge!)

THIS!^ Is what I really, Really want to see. I mean think about the backstabbing possibilities. Especially if you play with 6 underworlds and like 6 other players, that would turn insane. You thought you controlled everything, and suddenly hordes of enemies teleports from HELL, literally! (you get to make special units down in the underworlds. SPOILER =D)

You CAN build cities there.

I've got a small map 1v1 going, and I've surrounded and cut off my opponent while I explore the plane of fire which I can portal to.
Getting in was a pain as there's a lot of scary beasties right around the portal. And from time to time they'll come through to the main world.

But once I'd cleared an area around the portal I sent in a settler and placed a city there (right next to the portal, towers all around).

There seems to be special resources that are only available in these other realms. At least I've never seen them elsewhere.

Wow, that is such great news.

I wonder if the resources you are seeing down there are needed for victory or they are just another cool feature you can bypass if you want.

If this ever goes multiplayer, the settling of the other worlds would be an incredible addition!

Thanks for that info.

Wow! I am pretty pumped anyway (I only found out about this game 2 days ago), but after reading your post, I paused for a moment, and then said, "WOW!"

I didn't know about the multiple "other worlds" concept. I like it. Pre-ordered.
