Each update will be for the lifespan of a single monarch.
(Or two if one has an incredibly short reign.)
I’m not completely set on what sort of narrative I’ll be using for this
so forgive me if I hop back and forth from gameplay to storytelling to god-knows what else.
I’ll try to avoid playing too far ahead and would adore whatever suggestions/feedback you might have!

Update 1: Lanfriedens

Bohemia starts the 1444 scenario with ‘Landfriedens’ as our “ruler”.
This is because our previous king, Albert the Magnanimous, died without an heir.
His son Ladislaus was born after his death, so this is sort of like a regency council.
But Ladislaus actually becomes the king of Hungary following the death of Vladislaus I at the Battle of Varna.
Meanwhile, Frederick the Peaceful gets the title of Emperor,
blah blah blah Habsburg drama,
Ladislaus dies at 17 in 1457 and was a terrible King.
None of this really matters, but I found it interesting.
tl;dr: We have a 2/2/2 leader that’s a regency council but isn’t a regency council.
We start out with one vassal, Silesia, and no other foreign relations.
I’m going to try to annex Silesia as quickly as possible and maybe make friends with Poland to secure my Easern border.
They can get kind of ridiculous once that Personal Union with Lithuania takes off.
To be safe, I’ll be forming alliances and royal marriages with some potential vassals (Anhalt, East Frisia, and Luneberg.)
Our rivals are going to be incredibly fluid.
I basically use that mechanic to get +50 relations with someone else and -rarely- to make claiming territories easier.

Our army force limit is 14. I feel like that’s a tad low for a seven province nation, but that’s okay.
We start out with 8 Latin Medieval Infantry and 2 Latin Knights.
I que up 4 more Latin Medieval Infantry and quietly hope that’ll be enough.

Our income is pretty bad, +2.59 at the moment, and almost all of that is from taxes.
We’re collecting from trade in Wien but getting very little out of it. (.74 ducats)
Our other trader is forwarding a grand sum of .09 ducats from Ragusa towards Wien.
Bohemia is no economic powerhouse.
Our tech, like everyone else in the known world, starts out at 3/3/3.
We’re in the Western tech group, we have a University in Bohemia, and we have some awesome national ideas.
(-10% advisor costs, and later on a -10% tech cost)
So we’ve got some great infrastructure to do some science and/or book-learning.

Our day one missions are garbage. I tend to ignore this menu quite a bit.
No stability, no heretics (We’re Catholic, by the way), and no rebels. That’s pretty nice.
After our new infantry battalions(?) are recruited, I hire a couple of advisors.

Ernest Greve, a diplomat, gives us +30% better relations over time and +1 diplomacy power.
(Better ‘relations over time’ is insanely helpful for grabbing vassals quickly by getting their opinion of us up to +190 much more quickly.)

Matyas ze Svamberka, a treasurer, gives us +5% national tax modifier and +1 administrative power.
(+5% is pretty much worthless at this point, but he was the only tier 1 admin advisor available.)

Strangely, this left our monthly income at either +0.07 ducats or at -0.02.
Not sure what is up with the inconsistency.
This happens a few times, but -I think- the negative value tends to be the correct one when this happens.
(This is with Army Maintenance maxed out, so that’s not a big deal. Not really sure why I had it maxed out, though.)
Remember when I said that our ruler situation didn’t matter?

Our royal marriages supplied us with a new King, albeit an absolutely horrible one.
With a ruler like this, we're going to have a hard time keeping up in tech and maintaining stability.
Not to worry, though, I have a feeling he won’t last too terribly long.
I love this event.

The thing we need most is time, and this sort of relations boost certainly gives us that.
It also pushes Silesia a lot closer to that magical +190 relationship score.

Poland? Friendly? Well, I guess that means that I can stop improving relations now!
(I’m an idiot.)
August 10th, 1446. Annexation of Silesia begins.

It turns out that I also have a mission to “Incorporate Silesia”, so I guess that I’ll accept that to score 10 prestige when it finishes.
~woo~
I finally decided to turn down Army Maintenance to minimum, (1.95 per month), which gave us a monthly balance of 2.37.

I immediately cut this in half by hiring the Commadant Karel Josef Jiskra, who gives +1 military power and +5% to discipline.
The discipline bonus isn't useful right now, but it could easily save us if war breaks out.
Things are going pretty okay so far.
If only I could get rid of this terrible King…

Fuck. Yes.
This guy.
This guy right here.
Yes.
