Part I- The Day World Changed

Few cities could watch while the fate of the world changed, while even fewer could live long enough to see the effects. Warsaw was one of those cities.

"Comrades!" he yelled, with his strong voice. "October is now not only Russia's Revolution, but entire World's! As I speak, Red Army started changing the world! In October the 1st, 1945, Warsaw Pact has started the Great Crusade!" He stopped for a second, and coughed. "Workers of the world! I call you! Break your chains and join us in the brave new world!" he said, and ended his speech.

The Square was crowded. Everyone wanted to watch the World's destiny change. After the speech, Red Army and Polish Army tanks would make a parade.

Joseph Stalin didn't need to watch the parade. When the crowd's attention was at the parade, he left the Square. His personal bodyguards were of course not leaving him alone. More importantly, Head of Intelligence Igor I. Illichev was following him. "Comrade Stalin, we are waiting a response from the Allies in the next twentyfour hours. It's absoloute that they will strike, but the Department's conflicted about the power of the strike. Some believe they will strike at our Ports, while some believe they will use the nuclear weapons of theirs.", Illichev said.

Stalin grinned wolvishly. "Nuclear bombs? Bah! They wouldn't dare that. Tell Zhukov when he reaches Germany, that I am waiting Denmark to be taken before the winter. How many hours do they need to start an assault on all fronts?" he asked.

"Until the midnight, Comrade Stalin. General Chuikov plans to breach through the Allied lines and encircle them. General Eremenko in Middleeast is planning to cut off the connection between Iraq and Turkey, and take the Black Sea region for airbases. Comrade Zhukov is going to need a little bit more time, he didn't have the time to plan." he finished, a little bit scared. The look on Stalin's face would scare even Zhukov, if he was in Warsaw. "Tell him to take damned Germany before the Allies start raining their nuclear bombs on us," said Stalin, angrily.

However, even Zhukov couldn't take Germany that quickly.

The word that would take the life of millions was so simple. A word that a man can use every day, was about to bring Russia death.

"Start."

Motors of B-29 was letting entire Russia hear of the incoming apocalypse, but the cover of the night was making sure none would see it. It mattered not, anyway. Before the Russian Air Forces could respond, B-29s would be back in Turkey. They were moving in to Russia as two wings, one to north, one to east.

Moscow was so beautiful in the Fall.

As a bomb dropped from the plane, the world had changed in Moscow, but the City wouldn't live long enough to see the aftermath.

Part II- A Moment of Laxity

In the middle of ruined streets of Berlin, a building always rested different then others. The things that showed it was special were the iron rails on it's very few windows and the guards infront of the door. In offical records, this building was a "depot", but it's real purpose was a reason of curiosity among the local people. Rumours were running wild, while some thought it to be a weapons depot, some believed it to be a hideout for General Tolbukhin of 1st Belorussian Front.

As the Berliners continued wondering, the man waiting for the door to be opened for him, Alexander Kazarov, knew the purpose of the building very well. The stern looking soldier's shoulders were adourned with the apoulets of a colonel, and just if the local populace was well informed, they'd recognize the badge on his uniform to be NKVD's.

He never liked the building. How could he? This place was a target for any attack on Berlin, a building belonging to NKVD shouldn't draw this much of attention. Nevertheless, it was impossible to change it, this building was one of the rare buildings left standing.

When the gates were opened for him, he walked through the cold and and long corridors moving fastly. He stopped for a second as he saw the stairs leading down to the basement. He could guess what was happening down there, and he knew "things" there weren't pleasent for the Germans judged as "suspicious". He shrugged, and continued walking until he reached the room he was loking for. The guard infront of the door he was about to enter was the proof of the importance of the room, but he didn't bother knocking the door before entering.

Inside, in a room resembling an office, a short man was peering through a file. "Vasil," he nodded at him. "Did you hear the news?"

The man infront of him, Vasil, peered at him for a second, then nodded grimly. "Moscow is not on the map anymore, taking Beria with it. Attacking Amercians was a mistake."

Kazarov shrugged and continued talking. "Matters not. NKVD is in disarray in entire Germany. It would be good if Comrade Stalin made the new appointment quickly. Until then, it is our duty to make sure German people stay on line."

Vasil grinned mockingly. "Comrade Stalin is busy ordering an all front assault. Thank God, Zhukov hasn't reached Germany yet, otherwise we would be joining this immature assault," he said, and stopped for a second after seeing Kazarov's disapproving look. He grinned forcedly at him, and continued. "Whatever. Rumours aren't good at all. I was hearing a German resistance being formed, and there has been a few unidentified attacks on NKVD bases in the last twentyfour hours. The fact rebels appeared just after the nuclear bomb is a great coincidence, isn't it." The tone in his voice was proving his last words weren't in a question form. Kazarov nodded agreeingly, Americans had planned this before, obviously.

"These rebels," Kazarov began talking. "How do you intend to deal with them?"

Vasil grinned again. "Who would deal with the German rebels best? German rebels themselves, of course. You--" He was interrupted by the sound of explosion outside. He stood up quickly and took his gun on the table. For a second, Kazarov angered at himself for not noticing the gun before, and drew his own gun.

With the sound of an another explosion, the guard infront of the door bursted in. He was stunned after seeing the two guns pointed at him, he could only speak after the guns were pointed elsewhere. "We were under attack, Comrade Colonels! Comrade General Tolbukhin is informed, but the attack is over already." He turned to Kazarov. "Your car is blown off and one of the guards is wounded."

Vasil grinned forcedly. "Rebels, Alexander," he said. "They are showing-off."

I will follow this! GO USSR!

quantum: There you go.:p

General_Hoth: Glad to have you in the frontlines, comrade!

Part III- Back to War

"Welcome to Wolfsburg, Comrade Zhukov!"

Closeness to the front of the headquarters of 2nd Belorussian Front was a source of annoyance for Georgy Zhukov, but thanks to Comrade Stalin, it was too late to change this. The man infront of him, Vladimir Kassil, was offering him an exaggerated smile, like if he was trying to make Zhukov happy. This wasn't a good sign.

"Thank you, Comrade, thank you. I hope you, and everything are alright?" he said. His voice was showing his tiredness. The lackey infront of him smiled again. "Let's discuss this at your office, if you'd like." said Kassil. He didn't look back if Zhukov was following him, revealing that he didn't care what Zhukov really wanted.

Zhukov shrugged uncaringly, and started following the man. His office was at the second floor of a dusty building. A small window from the office was showing the River Aller to him. Other side of the river was under the Allied control, but they hadn't attacked yet. Probably, they were waiting to see if the nuclear bomb had broken the Soviet spirit.

He sat on the chair behind the table, and signalled Kassil to sit infront of him.

Kassil began talking. "Flying from Petsamo to here must be hard, Comrade Marshal. I am pretty sure you you would like to rest, but as you know, Comrade Stalin impatiently demands your attack plan. With your permission, I will brief you with a summary of the fronts with the latest reports. Most of the assaults began already, but their results haven't reached Berlin, or Wolfsburg."

Zhukov nodded understandingly. "Whatever you want, Colonel."

Kassil took a few maps from a file on the map.

ScreenShot001-1.jpg

"As you can see, Comrade Marshal, this map is showing Germany, your area of command. With Comrade Stalin's orders, reinforcements are on their way from Germany, but we do not know when they will reach."

ScreenShot002-1.jpg

"Second map is showing Czechoslovakian and Austrian Front. Front is under the command of Comrade Marshal Aleksandr Vasilevsky. As far as I am informed, the assault from Czechoslovakia will start with your movement, but to the South, in Austria, the Liberation has already started. I don't know if they will take the mountains until winter, but I am fairly sure Salzburg can be taken."

ScreenShot003-1.jpg

"The third map is showing Greek and Western Turkish Front, under the command of Marshal Konev. As far as I am informed, Turkish City of Istanbul won't be attacked until reinforcements from Crimea will arrive, but Greece is already under attack. Marshal Konev aims to cut off the connection between their capital Athens and Western Thrace."

ScreenShot004-1.jpg

"This map is showing the Eastern Turkish Front. It's under the supervision of General Eremenko, but the direct command is of General Kurkin's. His goal is to take the airbases in the Black Sea region, and save the Motherland from the threat of more Allied nuclear bombs. To take this mountainous region, he plans to take the southern area first, and encircle them from there."

ScreenShot005-1.jpg

"This map is showing Middleeastern Front, under the direct command of General Eremenko. In Iran, he intends to push towards south, to the Persian Gulf, intending to take the oil rich Khuzestan area. In Iraq, no Allied force has been spotted yet, but he hasn't ordered an assault. I am waiting for at least the Iraqi Army to show it's face there."

ScreenShot006-1.jpg

"This map is showing General Chuikov's Korean Front. He plans to take the Cities Seoul and Gwangju, and control the air and naval bases there. He will also use these cities to hit the Allied forces from their left flank."

Zhukov peered at the maps quickly, and nodded. "Thanks, Comrade Colonel," he said. "Now, if you would excuse me, I have a war to win."

Oh nice, can't wait to see the combat!

Excellent!

Sorry for this being so late.

The picture is from a Men of War multiplayer game, taken by Hatuke. I'll be providing pictures from Men of War from now on, as much as I can. Of course, the next pictures will be more centered around the battle!

Part IV- Battle of Teheran

4.png

As the sand under their feet was being mercilessly pounded, Captain Jacob Angelos was busy briefing his soldiers. "We are going to meet Iranians in the town. In this region, every town has at least two platoons defending them. We have to hold this place as long as possible."

As the English platoon reached the town's entrance, they were greeted by the rifles of an Iranian one. Iranians who recognized the coming people laid down their rifles, and let their Lieutenant, Rashid, to pass between them.

"Welcome, welcome!" said Rashid, waving around his rifle carelessly. "As you know, Russians won't move to south without securing this town. Which means, they will certainly come. If you have a plan?"

Angelos nodded with his head. He didn't need to think alot for a plan, he didn't have many options anyway. "I have. Have your men deployed to the Town Center, to the buildings around there. Do you have bombs that can affect tanks?" He waited for the Iranian to nod. "Good, good. Prepare them. At least one Russian tank division is moving towards Teheran, followed by a bloody lot of soldiers."

"Okay," said Rashid, with his Iranian accent. He went on to order his men around. So did Angelos, sending them to the locations they'd use for cover.

After an hour, Russian infantry was moving slowly and slowly towards the Town Center. Their slow movement was proving they didn't expect any opposition, Russian command must be believing the Allied forces to have retreated already. Infront of the crowded group, a soldier with a uniform showing his officer rank. Angelos aimed at the Russian, putting his finger slowly on the trigger.

As soon as he pressed the trigger, two platoons of Allied soldiers followed him. Incoming fire took the Russians unguarded, while some fell dead or wounded, some threw themselves to ground to save themselves from fire. After an another salvo of Lee Enfield rifles, more dead soldiers perusaded Russians to scatter around to take cover behind buildings. Russians looked around, looking for a commander, but their sergeant had perished together with their platoon commander.

As the firefight continued, sands started to shake with the sound of tanks. T-34s easily crushed the walls of the town, making way towards the center, rallying the pinned infantry with them. Angelos had counted three tanks, used as cover by the infantry in the middle. Rashid had ordered his men to use the bombs without waiting for Angelos.

Two tanks in the flanks were hit, the one to the left getting it's turret disabled, while the one to the right got it's entire right side destroyed. An another bomb was sent towards the third tank, the one in the middle, but it exploded before reaching the tank. The driver had probably realized impossibility of his survival in the town. He went on to crush the wall infront of him, uncaring about the infantry left behind, opening a new gate for the town.

Remaining Russians were left in a crossfire, while some tried to escape, running behind. Yet, as soon as after getting out of the cover, they fell lifelessly to the ground due to the fire. As an another bomb was sent to the tank with it's turret disabled, an another, distant sound was heard. The room next to the one Angelos was in was hit by the fire of self propolled artillery, throwing Angelos to the wall to his right. Shock of explosion was causing Angelos to blackout, as the last thing he heard was the sound of falling artillery bullets.
