With Johan and Henrik both working on a new vnet I would like to propose that we have some additional features to make this cold and dank place more a fun place.

Whilst the forums are great for lurking on, vnet is not. I propose that people can leave notes on vnet- a bit like the forum. So that you can say that you are looking for a game. Not everyone is going to visit the forums so reguarly but they might come into vnet - see no games and go. If they saw that a game was going to start in 20 minutes time then they could return and play.

You could add comments when you host a game such as this game is full please do not join. Or this game is going to be set in Eastern Europe. Or here are the house rules for this game etc etc

There must be other easily implementable things as well?

A better idea

I have an even better idea...

How about instead of polishing up Vnet, why don't they first fix the MP game? The way it is now, when Vnet get's fixed you will have thousands of frustrated MP players rather than the handful that lurk in this forum and play via IP.

Couldn't resist the obvious comment.

Hey, it's not that bad - we have just finished a 16+6h MP Marathon game with 8 ppl and it was a lot of fun. Once it started we had little problems - but starting it was sometimes a bit frustrating.

What should be fixed is mainly the CTD after dling.
Besides that I really hope they make Vnet a better place, since that will drastically increase people playing MP. And that increases sells in the long run, benefiting the developers, publishers and also the customers due to longer support by the developers.

I agree with mac. I think the priority should be to first fix the MP game and then make Vnet a very good place to go to. I live in Wisconsin in the USA and the game is just making a bigger impact in the stores(I bought it online and had never heard of it till I saw it online). Thus now that it seems to be breaking in out in the public I think that strategyfirst should make a big push to get those things done. I do appreciate them coming out with V1.03 which is quite a bit better but we need another big improvement in V1.04 to finally get this game to where it can be.

Its interesting the differences between the HoI responses and the EU responses. In EU we know the problems and EU works pretty good now. I guess in HoI you have other priorities atm

However, as I said _there is_ work on vnet happneing- here is your chance to have your say about its development, its going to happen regardless. Worth checking what we had to say in EU MP forum. There were some great ideas.

I think you're right.

EU2 is already 1.06 so many game mechanic fixes are already done while HoI needs some tuning (esp. AI-Large-Scale- Invasions to make Singleplayer more challenging).

Point is that esp. with the "back to the roots" MP and due to the length of MP games and also the huge difference between times/countries which have nothing to do (*yawn* - make it faaaster!) and the countries who are currently at war and have trouble assigning everything in time (*gasp* omg it's tooo fast!) HOI is not a MP game for everyone.

Improving the single player -> more Units sold -> more cash - (hopefully)-> more support for the game in general. That would also lead to a better MP -> more Units sold (OMG I have to show my friennd it rocksss!) -(hopefully)-> even more support for the game.

VNet is to some degree a different issue since it not only supports HOI.

Actually I enjoy HOI already but look forward to have even more fun with it, esp. in MP.
