The Struggle for a National Democratic Afghanistan

Hello everyone and welcome to my first AAR in Victoria 2! I am using the Cold War Enhanced mod in the 1992 start date. I've wanted to tell the stories of so many of my campaigns but have never gotten around to writing a serious attempt at an AAR, until now. I made a brief mini AAR Reddit post ages ago on a Sawdanid Sicily CK3 campaign, though that is long gone. This AAR is written in a narrative in universe format, presented in a notebook style by a fictional anonymous character, who has a backstory of their own. (Though I'm unsure to what extent It will be written about yet.) CWE is a fantastic mod with possibly the most satisfying nation-building in Vic2, and I'm excited to develop a Socialist Afghanistan into modernity. This AAR will beg the question "What if the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan defeated the foreign-backed mujahideen, and what challenges would it face developing socialism in the 21st century" Expect a heavily ideological account of triumph as the DRA enters the new millennia, diplomatically isolated.
I have currently played the first 8 years at the time of writing, and have almost finished recording the events that have transpired thus far, the plan as of now is to stop at 2020-2030. That could change as the campaign develops, however.
I will not conquer land from neighboring countries. Instead, I will focus on industrializing Afghanistan, stabilizing the country's tumultuous position, and considering other casus bellis, such as the installation of communism, puppeting, and humiliation to name a few.

This looks interesting. I'll follow.
