How do the Wardens function in-game? I still have absolutely no idea...can't get heads or tails of it.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Their just titles you can hand out for flavour can be revoked or given to different houses then canon if required, that's about it they don't seem to do much else but I could be wrong. They probably can't be implemented any other way.
And how can I check who are the current wardens and actually give them out / revoke them?
I don't freely hand out the title in my games; instead, I get an event whether I want to give it to a traditional person, or some other lord, or some other soldier. If I do the latter two, they just give me a couple of choices, in most cases unfavorable. And sometimes the traditional Lord option is even missing.
It made the Starks and the Tyrells hate me; I really did want to confirm the titles, but there was simply no option (just the latter three buttons).
Does that title give prestige/small income?
P. S. Also, doesn't it seem weird that an underage girl with a regent is supposed to wear the title of warden?
