Hello, after my horrible run with my previous mod, witch I chalk up do to the many differences in view on its issue, I've deicided to work on another mod witch hopefully will be a bit easier for me to handle, sence we can make this up as we go without the need to worry about offical documents of the timeline to have to follow. We can do anything as long as its plausible.
Here is the basic timeline.
POD: When Russia wants to leave the contenental system, Napoleon allows the majority of Europe to leave, albiet with restrictions. Italy, an exception, remains largely under French control, while Germany falls into French orbit. Hungary is made seperate and is a republic, much upsetting Austria.
1812: (Treaty of Brussles) France and UK sign a peace deal. Iberia is in British sphere of influence.
1812-1847: (The Great Silence) Despite being technicaly free from French influences, the rest of Europe is hesitant to act. The First Empire's might has never failed before.
1848: (Frankfurt Assembly) Under French infuence, the German Confederation merges into a consitutional monarchy under Prussian leadership. Austria and Bavaria are not happy, and Austria supports Bavaria's successful bid to take over small Southern states with tacit French approval. The remaining states merge to from Germany.
1853: (The Crimean War) Russia, being the farthest away, and also the least content with the order in Europe, invades the Ottoman Empire over the issue of authority over the holy land, witch in a recent treaty was granted to France. However, no powers intervine, France had a falling out with the Ottomans over the issue of Egypt. France has a principal of national self-determination that it had gained durring the French Revolution, and as such, backed Egypt in its wars with the Ottoman Empire.
As a result, the Russians, who's numbers made up for their lack of modernization, crushed the Ottomans, whose own army was worse then that of the Russians. In the treaty of Constantanople (1855), the Ottoman Empire was dismantled, with Turkey as a successor state. Romainia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Albainia were all organized under Russian administration. Russia was granted Constantanople, with the last remaining territory in Europe going to Greece, and a small tract of land on the far bank of the Bosphorus. In addition, Russia gained the rest of Arminena. The state of Jerusalam was created in the Holy Land, under Russian control, but free internaly, where it pursued a government under the French system. The establishment of national states placated the French in self-determination, and the issue was left at that.
1855-1897: (The Second Great Silence) Britain begins colonization of Africa. France competes, but reluctantly due to afore mentioned principalns. Never the less, France snags Algeria, Tunis, Libya, Morroco, and much of West Africa. Germany takes East Africa. Britian takes Egypt (witch France finaly stoped protecting) and South Africa. Britian has little competition in South Asia. Russia takes Mongolia and Tibet in Central Asia. USA and Japan compete for Pacific Islands.
1898: (Great Colonial War) US declares war on Spain over the sinking of the USS Maine. France comes to US aid, for reasons of self-determination for Cuba and the Philipines. Britain and commonwealth come to Spainish aid, hoping to contain the French. Despite the number of fronts, or perhaps because of it, the war quickly turns to a statlemate. Spanish naval power is utterly destoyed. US, France, and UK all suffer heavy naval casulaties. Canadian invasion of New England thwarted. French invasion of Spain slow and steady, due to fear of British invasion.
In the end, not much changes. Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philipines are all granted independance and joint protectorate by all powers. Spain falls out of British sphere of influence.
1898: (First Balkan War) Using the distraction of France, Russia teams up with Austria to carve up Hungary. Russian puppets are expaned to include all of their ethnicity, while Austria gets the rest.
1914: (The Great War) Russia, feeling invincible, attacks the last holdout in the Balkans, the French coastal holdings. This time Russia has gone too far. Germany joins with France as does the two Italian kingdoms, and later Japan, enticed by offers of land in Korea and China with French help. Austria and all the Russian puppets predicably help Russia.
The start of the war sees the coast quickly taken, followed by a hard battle in the mountains with French and Italian troops. Germany holds the line in Prussia, while invading Bohemia. Austria is no match for Germany.
In 1915 Japan joins and quickly sizes Korea and Russian Manchuria. Later that year, Austria would be knocked out of the war. Bohemia is made independant under German influence, and Hungary is freed. Aditionaly, Sloienia is created, but Russian occupied for a time, and at the end of the war, it would be joined by Croatia made from Austrian and French lands.
In 1916, German and French troops break out of Prussia and into the Baltics, making a drive for St. Petersburg. Russians pour tons of troops into the frey, straining factories and pesents alike.
By 1917, Russia was in a desperate situation. Communist revolution (how predicatable x.x) breaks out. Peace is quickly signed. Tibet, Finland, and Mongolia rebel successfuly. The Baltic countries and the Ukraine are created and supported by France. In addition, Russia loses control over puppet regimes. Turkey takes back Constantanople and Arminia. Japan formaly gains Russian Manchuria. Certian Balkan nations are reduced in size.
1917-1922: (Russian Civil War) Red Victory. French were satisfied with simply proping up the new nations and protecting them from Reds.
1925: (Sino-Japanese War) Japan takes the rest of Manchuria and Formosa.
1928: (Second Balkan War) Bulgaria and Greece team up against Serbia.
1936: Game Start
Suggestions welcome. Keep in mind this is not the final timeline. Map comming soon. I have a crappy art version of Europe, but I draw badly. If enough want to see it, I'll post it, otherwise I'll wait till I got the ingame map, witch will take 1-2 weeks.
