Excerpt from The Hive by Lord Protector Perak Toros ; Ghostwritten by Anonymous
No doubt, the beginning of the Zuun Hive is familiar to every other spacefaring species. Once upon a time, we were primitives roaming the grassy savannas of our homeworld. One day, we decided farming and cities are better than hunting and bands. Our species was superstitious attributing a spirit or god to every unexplainable. We were children.

The superstitious wars became dreadful, and the Hive was one solution of many at the time. Since I am Lord Protector Perak Toros, not strung-up-by-his-knees-on-a-lamppost Perak Toros, the best solution won out obviously. In my short life, I have gone from being a miner, to an industrialist, to the leader of our species and world. Maybe someday, I will be the leader of more than one world, more than one system.

Maybe, just maybe, a successor will become the leader of more than just one galaxy. A man can dream.

Excerpt from Undersanding Ugarlak by Ilmas Taras
Ugarlak is not the Galactic Standard language, nor are our dating systems the Galactic Standard. I have taken the liberty to translating our language and dating systems to the Galactic Standard in these texts so that other species may understand what they did wrong.

Excerpt from Undersanding Ugarlak by Ilmas Taras
Ugarlaks are a mammalian species native to Zuun in the Evon System. Our species is known for its intelligence, especially in the realm of physics, as well as our long lifespans and relatively poor adaptability to foreign environments. We are, at our core, a "continental" species, if I may use the Galactic Standard Classification. During the formation of our civilizations, we turned to superstition and belief. I would like to believe our myths were more developed than those of other species'. In any case, we hit a wall in our development. The vestiges of our belief systems were still major sources of strife.

Thus, a Lord Protector instigated the pacification wars. These wars crushed the back of the cosmopolitan syncretic theocracies (we will not be covering those in this book). I would like to think we're better for the experience.

Notes from the Author

Stellaris has come a long way since May when I started The Necessary Babylon. Patches and mods have greatly improved the game. This will be a 5,000 star non-clustered four-armed spiral galaxy run. I will not tell you how many AIs are present, but I can guarantee you it is a lot. I also can not guarantee this save won't literally melt before 2300.

The modlist revolves around AlphaMod. This game will probably not use Heinlein. Also this is the first time I'm playing AlphaMod so, just like last time, if you're looking for a tutorial AAR, this most definitely will not be it.

Any and all criticisms of the writing is encouraged. If you like what you read, drop a "good job man" in the thread. Really gets the motivation up, you know?

Praise the Sun! ...Err, wrong game.

Anyway, this looks like it's going to be an interesting story. I'll be keeping an eye on this one :)

Question: Since I still don't have Stellaris myself yet, I don't have the symbols for the different ethics and traits down in my mind. Anyone mind running through those for me?
