This is a decent start, assuming there are patches before too long to try to clear up some of the many bugs, but there's a lot that just doesn't fit.

I'll be adding things as i come across them here, starting a new game as the federation. it might lead to it being a bit random. I'm not saying they are all huge problems, so please dont think i'm assigning them all the same importance.

Right off, why does my starfleet ship not have photon torpedos? this is technology that, by the time of the game start, has been in use for over a century. it should not need to be researched.

First tech to research under engineering is improved energy production, which unlocks impulse engine components. The text however says thrusters, and that "Thrusters are used for sub FTL propulsion." While true, it's only half the story as thrusters and impulse engines are very very different things. Thrusters are simple things like they have on spacecraft today, used for very very slow speeds. they can not get a ship anywhere near impulse speed.

Why does the warp core use energy? it produces energy, that's it's entire function. you might want to say, but it makes the ship go at warp. it does not. it makes energy from matter and antimatter, which the warp coils, in the nacelles, use to make the ship go.

The klingon empire is not in the location it should be from on screen sources.

Physics technology plasma launchers. from the stats, description and picture, its a beam weapon. beam weapons are not launched. torpedos are launched.

I know i said i wouldnt list bugs, but "mintaka sun" for what i assume is the star the planet mintaka orbits? that's just lazy lol also wrong. the sun was mintaka. the planet was mintaka III. and nope, no mintaka 3 in the system, no habitable planets.

I need to wonder, why are we caring about mining deuterium? its a hydrogen isotope. its expensive nowadays, though cheaper than things like gold and platinum, in the time of trek it's so not an issue. this should be antimatter maybe?

"captains log" event, where somehow a log is sent out to everyone. the stardate is 28920. we know from the episode the child, that stardate 38325.3 was in 2294. this one in this event is way off. as is the fact they are talking about a mission to the gamma quadrant decades too early.

"memory alpha" event. it talks about training to better resist mind control again. when was the first time? this feels like it should follow on from something as worded now. it also doesnt create the mission if that choice is selected.

Ah, so the fusion reactor upgrades to the warp core and the drive is seperate? My bad. but so you know, ships have fusion reactors as well as the warp core. where as here, the antimatter reactor replaces the fusion reactor. antimatter reactors are 200 odd year old tech by game start.

I'm unsure if whoever wrote the line "an al-arrr-ming development" with regards to pirates should be given a medal, or shot.

The shut up wesley event. Not sure if you know, but wil wheaton has come to absolutely hate that phrase. not sure if it still is, but for years, saying that to him on twitter was an auto block.

I'll add more to this later.

I dont want it to seem like i'm hating the game, i'm not. But there are a lot of little things that could be easily fixed and improve accuracy a lot.

modders will do a better job then the devs, trust me, and i agree with most of what you have stated, the Stellaris mindset was used when creating the game
Well that wasn't unexpected. Lets face it, the paradox devs have had trouble at times keeping stellaris working well, and they created it. These guys were always going to have trouble launching a modified version.

I'm willing to pay the paradox tax (DLC's) if it brings good improvements, but we need an active player base and modder interest to get to the point of them doing their thing.

I agree with a lot of this, but I'm all for telling Wesley to shut up. It shouldn't be the devs' responsibility that Wil Wheaton can't tell his own person apart from a character he played. The character was (and still is to this day) very annoying and badly needed to be told to shut up. I don't know about Wheaton since I've never met him in person and I don't really care to be honest. If your profession is actor and you can't differentiate the roles you are playing from real life, you have a major problem. I would think it's kind of a prerequisite for the job. It's just words, deal with it.

When you get that message up to hundreds of times a day, over years, then we'll talk. it wasn't wil who couldn't tell them apart, it was "fans"

i'm not saying they should change it, just pointing out the fact. changing that one line though wouldn't really change the event.

wil is a good guy who has been open about his struggles with star trek and his mental health. i get why they used it, but at the same time, i get the argument for not using it.

Increasingly, I feel as if the decision to set it in the 2340's was a mistake, the techs and size of the empires makes one think the latter 2190's would have perhaps been more prudent following the establishment of the Federation.

My job entails to get shouted at on the internet daily as well. When I get paid for it what Wheaton gets paid for appearances, we'll talk.

Let's agree to disagree on this. None of this is a good argument to complain that the developers quoted a line right out of a TNG episode. The more I look at this game, the more I wish they did this more, not less.

How is twitter his job? when you leave a job, and still get that abuse related to it 2 decades later, come back to me.

I wouldn't say it was a mistake, simply not developed as well as it could have been. The map feels, oddly enough, empty? Also, the factions aren't in the right places. I'd love for them to modify the map to look more like that in the Star Trek: Stellar Cartography book. Also, why is the Romulan neutral zone a square blob instead of the line of planets along the UFoP-Romulan border? And Betazed's placement (which changes, apparently) is nowhere near where it should be given DS9 canon (the Dominion invaded and occupied Betazed, opening up the UFoP core to possible invasion).

The game is fun; I'm enjoying myself. I'd like to see significant changes, whether it be mods, DLC, or both. Give it time.

The Plasma charges is because it is made with the best tech you have at the time.
That is a part of modular game design, and I think it is fine.
I should be able to refit the ship, and that still doesn't excuse the "Enterprise Class" lol they got the California Class right for the Cerritos, but they couldn't get one of the most iconic and well known ships next to the original TOS of the show, USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D GALAXY CLASS ?

It is an internal thing most likely.
The Galaxy Class is an actual ship type you can build, refit, etc.
So it cant be the same as the Enterprise. It seems like there is only one Enterprise in the game rn, so they just called it the Enterprise.

The only thing ruining this game (actually not ruining it but certainly a PITA) are the no-humour Trekkie nerds with no imagination.

Again i am going to point at the Cerritos, the California class is also a ship class you unlock (just unlocked it in my game actually)
