So as of right now the curator enclave has received all the love and attention not only in terms of add ons from the devs but also just how useful and liked they are by the community as a whole.

With the devs reworking trade (cautiously optimistic about trade being its own rescource) and having expressed interest in "culture" and such i feel like they definitely should take the chance to expand the role and uses of the artisan and trader enclave. Right now the artisan is ok if you want some extra unity and the trader is kinda useless as almost everyone is self reliant when it comes to strategic rescources. (unless you get a really bad spawn)

Dont know how exactly it could work considering the beta for the new trade is not even out and culture doesnt even seem to have something concrete yet (that has been mentioned) but i feel like it would be a missed opportunity to not bring these 2 enclaves up to speed. (The remaining 3 enclaves could also use some love but the shroud walker one could be reserved for the psionic reworks and the other 2 dont really see how)

I could see it being out of scope for 4.0 but agreed that it would be good to take a look at the trader ones in particular. I find it's rare I ever end up using them, and the art one I just become a patron and ignore it.

The nomadic traders could do with improvements as well. They just feel like annoying pop-ups that repeatedly interrupt you to offer stuff you don't want 99% of the time.

Fair i dont expect it to be all in one go but just tiny start at least. The curators was slowly over time so im not expecting a complete rework all at once.

I do find the traders pretty annoying too. Sometimes they got one off offers that interest me but most of the time i wish they would leave me alone

I use Curators for Research bonus, Survey bonus(Curator Tech in Physics) and Archeology bonus(+2 in Society Tech). They also help with respect to the Grand Archive and may yield you some unique relics. I also use Artisan Troupe for the extra Unity as well as Festival of Worlds for Pop Growth and Happiness bump. The latter occasionally prompts some of their Pops to stay on one of our worlds due to the "joy" from the Festival. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture building can be a nice touch on a Unity Ecumenopolis, even more so if you manage to get First League and a Holy Covenant. Nomadic Traders sell junk 99% of the time. Only ones I generally accept are +3 Pops for x resource exchanges since Pops are priceless.

What I don't use are the Strategic Resource Traders and the Gambling one since I find them to be a waste of Energy Credits given Ancient Refinery exists. They could be an early source for Strategics to get yourself a head start but once said Refineries start coming online, their use pretty much evaporates. Now if they dabbled in the sale of Minor Artifacts, Astral Threads, Zro, Nanites, Dark Matter or Living Metal(aka the HARD to come by resources), then they may see more use as I see it. I also never use Scavengers so yeah...
