Hi - I have been playing the game with no problems for about 2 months and out of the blue I get a problem.

I downloaded the game from "Direct2Drive" and run the game from their download mamager.

I dble click on the launcher icon and get the main menu screen OK - I then click on "Play" option. I get the smaill "EIC loading" box for a few seconds then get a white box titled "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" the message within the box reads "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times (using the easy install option) - the first time after the reinstall the game works but the next time I play I get the message and cannot get into it.

I have applied patch 3 - so my log files should have 1.06 but they only have 1.0 whioch suggests the game is failing before logging starts.

Any help wouldbe great as I was really enjoying the game

Hi,
please check the Troubleshooting sticky for instructions to change the Windows Data Execution Prevention settings (needs a reboot after changing). It's also a good idea to try to run the game straight from the installation folder by double clicking the eastindia.exe

I've got the exact same error.

I'm running XPSP3 32bit, and I've checked my DEP settings. I'm only using DEP on essential windows programs and services.

I've installed using the expert mode first. Then when it didn't work I used the easy method, which also doesn't work.

I've read the troubleshooting guide, but that doesn't help me any further.

I've also got the game from Direct2Drive and used their download manager.

Starting the game directly from the folder doesn't work either, and I can't find a log file detailing errors...

Patching up to 1.06 didn't do anything helpfull.
