1. How do I rebase aircraft?
EDIT: Just figured it out (doh!).
2. Mid-air refuelling, how do you do it properly? Sometimes it seems to work fine, but more often than not one of the tankers will flash a message about "not having enough fuel to refuel an F35" (why, when it hasn't refuelled anything yet?). At which point I will send it back to its base. Unfortunately bingo fighters will attempt to follow it rather than refuel from another tanker, or land at a nearer base, with obvious consequences...
3. Harpoons (and other stand off weapons?) and losing targets. A simple scenario - you have a Russian fleet identified, you have Harpoons in the air, then you lose the Russian fleet. The Harpoons all ditch rather than continue on their previous course / reverting to bearing only. Is this realistic?

Thanks,

lf

Not nescesarily, not with current tech anyway. A Harpoon will fly out to a programmed arming point, turn on the seeker, acquire a target and home in on it. If no target is found, it will continue on untill it does. I presume a self-destruct point can be programmed, not quite sure on that.

T'is a bit odd a 2030 missile would self-destruct so quickly, even if you take advanced datalink into account (the ability to be "aware" of its target from launch to impact).

2. An aircraft will, if it still has main weapons remaining, check if there is enough fuel for it an any tanker that is not already allocated to another aircraft. If not, it will go to its original home base. When the messages start popping up that it can't fulfill requests, you may want to send it back to base, provided no other planes are heading its way. It is fully automatic. It may not be wholly perfect yet, though.

3. Yes, we think about changing how this works.
