Ok, now I really do have a problem, a recurring CTD on the Spanish Civil War scenario HoI2: DD. Playing as the Republicans, the game CTDs every time I reach the 5th of May '37. It is an unpatched game - I don't want to patch yet unless necessary, since I haven't actually played a single campaign yet and I'm still getting to grips with it.

Anyway, it seems time related - it doesn't matter what actions I take around the time, so any help would be great (I'm just about to beat Franco off the mainland  ).

xp Home Edition SP2
Intel 3.01Ghtz
1Gb DDR RAM
1Gb free space on a 114Gb hard drive
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 5-10 drivers (they work with everything else, but last time I updated, it seemed to conflict with a few games)
C-Media AC97 audio device
Latest version of DirectX 9.0c

Thanks

I think Paradox want to know if you are playing DD or HoI 2.

Sounds more like a software bug than hardware related, in which case you should file a bug report as per the sticky thread.
But you are not patched so you should not do that either actually.

So to your problem, The only way you may get around it is to load the game as some out of the way small nation in say South America. play past the date a couple of days then save and exit the game, then load that save as the nation you were originally playing.
