Interesting Problem - Don't know if its a bug or a system problem.

Running 1.05c
Microsoft XP
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
2.09 GhZ
449 MB Ram
NVidia Graphics

I am playing France and in December of 1941 as soon as I am notifed that two new units are ready the clock switches to 0:00 and doesn't advance.

I can place the new units. I can order units. The music continues to play. But time never advances. It's not that I am locked up, because I can still move about the screen and access menus, examine units, etc, but the clock never restarts so no new moves are executed.

My computer skills are minimal so this next bit may have nothing to do with it, but just in case, I will mention it.

I am able to pull of Windows Task Manager, and I see that HOI is consuming between 99-97% of my resources. However, I have no other applications running and have disabled background software like Norton Anti-Virus, etc.

I can't believe that I am sucking dry all of my memory on this.

Is there some max unit count that I am blowing when I build these new units? I have a LOT of foreign expeditionary forces under my control, and my army's pretty huge, too.

I have the latest patch and this is not a CTD, though sometimes I do CTD after I surrender and the scoring screen appears.

I have not had this problem before playing other nations under 1.05c, but at the same time I have not had a game with so many units under my control.

Ideas?

Sure you installed 1.05C correctly, and did you download it from the Paradox site.

Could be the Dec 41 bug. What day are you stuck on? Not 13?

But that was reportedly fixed in 1.05c!!

Read more info about how to manually fix, here.
@ Here

If youre positive that 105c has been correctly installed try checking the events according to Jdrou's post in the thread above and editing the files, otherwise this could something new!

Which is why I asked the question I did. ;)

To verify 1.05c is installed correctly you can check the version displayed in the upper right corner of the main menu (verifies the .exe is correct) and check the datestamp on db\events\sleepleaders.txt (the file containing the known Dec 1941 bug in 1.05). For 1.05c it should be July 11, 2003 (1.05 is June 15, 2003).

PS: I will be travelling for the next few days so may not be able to provide more info until I return. :)
You can let us know when you return.
Also did you start this game under 1.05 or 1.05C?

Ah ha! Looks as if I did not install 1.05c correctly.

I had it installed correctly before but when upgraded my computer, it seems I may have simply reinstalled HOI and reloaded the 1.05c patch without reinstalling 1.05 patch.

Thanks for the help!

I suspected as much. ;)
