So saw where @Justin Kase suggested a set of mods for use with the "official" mod support. I installed the mods as he suggested but now I get a message that that says "Date Not Selected" where the current in game date unusually displays.

I have installed exactly as he said in the thread, putting the files extracted in the "official" mod folder. I am presuming this is something with the "Timeline" mod. Am I missing something about how to select the start date for my campaign?

lol....hit play to move time.

date isnt selected cuz you aint chosen one

trust me

Not getting that far yet. Started a new campaign, ran a few missions and saved to do some other stuff. Came back and told it to continue the campaign and now it get the sit and spin load. Have tried with both official and modtek installs. gonna have to start pulling mods to track this down I guess.
