Heya guys!

Listen - A friend and I will be getting the game around the 25th and well basically we want to celebrate with a multiplayer game. Now - I have been playing HoI2 for 2 years and continue to do so from time to time; however I feel that I will need some tips for this multiplayer game because it is a brand new game.

If it's not too much trouble, could you guys please share with me some tips and tactics on 2 nations and on 2 scenarios?

*NOTE: DON'T THINK THAT I WANT YOU TO ANSWER ALL OF THE FOLLOWING. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY IF YOU ONLY ANSWER ONE; HOWEVER I DO PUT PRIORITY ON THE GERMAN 1939 TACTICS *

Firstly - What tactics should I use as a GERMAN player in the 1939 scenario against a British (or French) player?

Secondly - What tactics should I use as a BRITISH player in the 1939 scenario against a German player?

Thirdly - What tactics should I use as a GERMAN player in the 1936 scenario against a British (or French) player?

Finally - What tactics should I use as a BRITISH player in the 1936 scenario against a German player?

(links to threads or sites that display this information would also be good )

If you've been playing HoI 1 (not 2) for so long then the general strategies will be familiar to you already. The main thing to be aware of is that Germany is comparatively weak in 36 in HoI II and so you may want to start with 39. But if you do play 36 then tips for the UK are to pay attention to its sliders and seek to influence lots of countries, trading for the money to do so. Trade takes some getting used to compared to the world market in HoI 1 and it's a challenge for Germany. UK has it easy because it gets lots of raw materials from its empire.

Hmmm ok thanks. That is good to hear.

In regard to the 1939 scenario, what new strategies should I adopt? For example, should I trade with the Netherlands rather than invade them?

France should be a walkover for the Axis in 1939 because all of France's infantry divisions are 1918 type. Even Poland starts the '39 scenario with '36 infantry divisions.

Hmmmm - ok thanks! That is VERY good to hear. It allows my Historical invasion to take place :) Of course, my friend will be Britain and so the real challenge will be whether he can reinforce France in time (which, he is most likely to have under his control). Considering it will take quite a while for Britain to gain good strength on the ground, it seems that I will be forced to take the route of invading within months after the conquering of Poland, rather than waiting for spring (which IMO, should be preferable for an offensive army whatever the quality of the enemy). Considering all of weather penalties that seem to be a more prominent feature of the game now, perhaps I should re-assess my battle plan. My original plan was to rapidly conquer The Low Countries and France in one large offensive in the spring of 1940 and then simultaneously move onto Britain, much like IRL. According to what you have said, it would be better the attack France and the low countries right after I take Poland and then wait until the Spring of 1940 to launch an all out invasion of the British Isles. The only major challenge in this will be defeating the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force... Am I right in doing this BTW and any tips on destroying the RN and RAF?

Also - any tips on how I should efficently strangle Britain economically? And the best way of Bringing Italy into the Axis in 40?
