In the thread titled "Include in EUii", Viking gave a list of wants that contained one specific point which would be a great addition to options available in the Peace Treaty options interface. His point #5 suggested that a victorious nation could demand that a defeated nation - or (presumably) all nations in a defeated alliance - be 'expelled' from a given region of provinces (ie: England 'expelling' Holland from North America).
Perhaps in the sequel's design, the world could be divided up into regions of provinces, for the purpose of defining Spheres of Influence in diplomacy. Unlike CoT regions, these Spheres would be geographically defined, thus (hopefully) making this mod easier for the designers to program. Nations would only be able to demand expulsions in Spheres where they have a met a certain 'presence threshold'; say, a certain number of provinces in the Sphere, or a certain length of time in the Sphere (the number of provinces would prob'ly be easier to program). Also, give the defeated nation or nations a reasonably long CB (25 years?) against the victor as well - you can never have enough CBs
Giving human players in particular the ability to tack on such diplomatic demands of minor nations would certainly make the possibility of Kleves or Astrakhan colonizing North America or Australia a much less likely possibility, thus enhancing the sim's realism. Also, this option could hold far-reaching diplomatic consequences (with long CBs) that EU1 generally doesn't afford outside of EU1s Perm CBs.
Thanx again for the great idea, Viking. Hope it wouldn't be too difficult to implement.
