Please express your opinion on whether a series of Treaty of Tordesillas type events are a good addition to Inteergnum.

I voted yes, simply because I play interregnum and I fell that's good to bring somewhat "crazy ideas" to this "crazy mod".

PS: When I enter vacations, I can probably help you guys out reportings bugs and the alike, if you need.

I voted no, just dosent seem to fit in with the whole Europe scene methinks. The whole Tordesillas treaty was to designate spheres of influence for Spain and Portugal, I dont see the nessicary weight for such to be enacted I guess. Better to make up a whole new treaty instead with some different ideas like perhaps a Catholic nation given a free hand for North America and the other limited to the south.

Hmm, since the Tot was all about religion in the end what if it's more tied to the religion within your provinces, and rather than focus on colonies have it more focus on conquered foreign states, maybe a system of reimbursements for converting foreign territories to catholicism, So if you convert x province to catholicism you get x amount of money or some other benefit depending on it's location, rather than going the full "claim region" option

I voted yes, though I think what's being discussed bears little to no resemblance to the actual Treaty of Tordesillas both in actual form and effect, as well as underlying purpose; we should probably call it something else.

I am definitely open to alternate ideas, as always. But posting an idea without fully describing how it would work usually doesn't attract much attention.

Tordesillas is really just the RW equivalent (of the Pope granting new world territory). Of course we would not use that title. There were also other treaties, such as the Treaty of Saragosa, which supplemented Tordesillas.

Anyway, it's interesting that this has become the discussion thread as well as the poll thread.

I just meant that we should refer to it as something novel. Objections like Calipah's are valid, but only so long as we continue to compare this set of events to the Treaty of Tordesillas.
