Hi all. I am wondering if there is an idiots guide to changing/correcting country names or flags. I have no programming or modding experience.

If I should leave this to the pros and avoid scewing up my software let me know. Thanks!

Go to your EU2 folder, then /config/text.csv

Open it with notepad, and seach for "ENG;"

You will get the following list:

Change the names of any country as you wish, but only within the ;s - do NOT add or delete any of the ;s...

That's all there is to it, mate

With regards to GFX, try here ...

Put the "shield_XXX" files in /gfx/map/shield, and the "smallshield_XXX" files in /gfx/map/shield/smallshield

I'll leave you to guess where to put the flags

Ridley Scott is doing a remake? That should be interesting. I always wanted to see Stanley Kubrick's film about the man himself. There was a screenplay flying about the net a few years ago I have on here somewhere, but it was recalled for copyright reasons IIRC.

Ah well. Who's menna' be in this new remake then?

No, sorry, the Ridley Scott remake exists only in my imagination. I watched Kingdom of Heaven again a few weeks back and Waterloo today, and thought Scott might be able to do more justice to Waterloo.

Kubrick is great - Eyes Wide Shut did not get half the credit it deserved. I mean, any movie with pagan love-ins can't be all bad, can it?!?!

As to the modding, once I opened up the EU2 directory I saw that it really was not that complicated at all. With mandead's instructions it was no problem.
