At some point before I noticed what was going on, I received a random event that said I could refuse trade without penalty. Naturally, I paid it no heed because Austria has no COT. But I just noticed that I am now refusing trade with EVERYONE and when I got to the diplomacy screen to allow trade again, it says in the help/explanation text window (the one that comes up when you let the cursor lay over the command) 'unknown string'.
Naturally this is killing my trade research and I can't figure out how to make it go away.
Is there a natural event that refuses trade no matter what I do? I didn't think that was what happened, and I thought it expired after 30 months (I am almost sure it was that long ago)?
Should I send my save game in?
