Summary

Transport Planes not sending supply when in allied territory

Platform

Steam

Operating System

Windows 10

Game Version

v1.12.13.fbdd (b721)

Enabled DLC

  • All of the above

Do you have mods enabled?

No

Description

This used to not be problem at least from before BBA, issue is when you as (example) Canada build transport planes, they only work in territory that you own.
For example when trying to fight for El-Alamein as a minor nation even with 400 transports there is 0 supply being sent out.

I own and have all DLC except gotterdammerung.

Transport planes only work when being sent from territory controlled by the plane owner, no matter how many attempts on different nations.
I just do not see this as intended game design, as it makes no sense, and forces players to give up on existence of transport planes in case of divisions being inside allied territory far away from controller territory.

Edit: (text edited to be more up to date and readable)

Steps to Reproduce

1. Play a nation that is very close to an ally (in my case I did South Africa)
2. Use add_latest_equipment command to get transport planes and equipment for divisions to consume more supplies (update division templates to be larger so they consume more supplies).
3. Give yourself CP and IC to be able to start a mission and build at least a level 1 airfield if needed (an airfield in Botswana in my case)
4. Start a mission coming from your territory to see your divisions getting air supply.
5. Pull your planes to an airfield inside of a friendly nation (still within range of your divisions), see no air supply being sent.

Are you playing on a save from the previous/older version of the game

No

I have performed a similar test using Canada and the UK in Africa, which I have attached the save for. Make sure to turn AI off, but you will see I have granted Canada a state in Egypt, and that when using the transport planes from that state they will receive supply, but if you use the transport planes from an adjacent british airfield, it will not work.

Both states are in the same airzone as the divisions.

Air supply has more serious issues. Air volunteers can't supply at all, it just shows the region has 0 supply shortage.

Bump, really frustrating as Germany at El-Alamein.

Bump, transport planes still don't work after the DLC/Update dropped, Through beta participation I found that they work on version 1.11.13 (Barbarossa/NSB), but no longer work on 1.12.14(Avalanche/BBA). Tested without the newest DLC Gotterdammerung.

Yes, that's very annoying, runned into that with my current game at v1.15.3:

PLEASE FIX THIS PARADOX. It's absolutely ridiculous this issue has remained unfixed for this long.

First reported May 20, 2023.
Still unfixed February 18, 2025.

It's been almost 2 years.

Is this ever going to be fixed, or is it just going to stay like this forever? A response from a PDX staff member would be appreciated.

What this guy said

Old bug: should someone do a new report (with new saves)? Or will PDX just merge any such reports into this one as duplicates, despite being from newer game versions? How do the rules on duplicate bug reports work?
