How did everyone do with the new mission treacherous tropics? I've given it a shot this morning and am running into difficulties around day 75. I start becoming overwhelmed with Fire Elementals. I'd say I've only explored about 75% of the map, and I know there are some monster lairs left (besides the portals), but only a few. I focused on clerics, the archers and beastmasters to start, with rangers, paladins, and priestesses to agrelia a little later on.

by the time i started building wizards and rogues they were too hard to keep alive. i only have four temples up so that might be a problem.

i have some powerful dwarves, which are pretty much the only guys that are making a strong showing of things although we all know they don't kill much.

I was able to get through it okay with some more focus on dwarven towers and defense flags on my armory & market.

I had steady streams of fire elementals coming in around day 60 onward. They came from the North and East. They spawned outside the map, but the funny thing is they stayed on the edge for about 20 seconds before moving into my base.

this mission is easy

the trick to it, and also the 'Battle for Survival' missions, is to build lots of heroes.

sometimes its really easy to get swept up in upgrades, DON'T. 27 moderately up graded heroes is better than 12 tanks, because with lotsa heroes your forces won't be stretched.

for example, i never take my blacksmith or market past lvl2. rather than upgrade armour or weapons at 3000g a pop, i build another warrior and wizard guild; which gives me six more heroes.

also, build an Inn. parties rock

After trying this 2 more times I still say it's impossible. It doesnt matter how many heroes I have i'm still swamped. In fact I believe that if you have more heroes, the game spaws that many more monsters. It just cannot be done in my opinion.

Well, we have already stated this isn't true at all:
This mission needs to be toned way down for anyone to even have the slightest chance.

General advise:
* Destroy lairs. Even if it isn't necessary as can be seen by the challenge, it certainly makes your life easier.
* Dwarven Towers are your friend. Place a single one to the west, and you got one invasion side completely covered.
* Unlike Iggynous, I prefer to stick to less, more powerful heroes. A strong economy (lvl 3 marketplace etc.) is more worth than any amount of heroes. Less guilds are also easier to defend. In this mission it's a REAL challenge to run out of money due to the assistance you keep getting (*sigh*).
* Around day 40 the map should be cleared, and rest you the fun (not so much) task of waiting 60 repetitive days before the mission is over, because the resistance isn't getting more powerful.

I've completed the campaign and all missions without ever creating the same guild twice. The thought never even occurred to me until I saw some players doing it online. I tend to go with fully upgraded parties.

i did the campaigne like you, but then after while i was doing missions like Treacherous Tropics and Battle for Survivals i found it easier to have lotsa moderately strong heroes than fully upgraded ones.

anyway, toward the end of the missions i did start to fully upgrading them, because at a certain point you can nolonger safely build level one heroes because they'll just get mauled by a werewolf or something

I tried this mission about 10 or 12 times with different pattern and I couldn't win.. I'm always swarmed by monsters and my heroes don't stop dying. I try to heal them so I don't lose too much money. I even try to upgrade them as fast as I can so they don't die so easily but nothing work. In 10 days, I have about 10-15 deaths. Is there a good pattern to do? First thing I do is a warrior guild, cleric guild and a market. With this, I train 2 beastmasters with 2 archers of helia. I research healing potion and I try to upgrade as fast as I can my warrior guild. After this, I try to put another warrior guild and make a blacksmith. This is where I always fail. I can't be fast enough to do all this and my heroes are always dying so I'm losing a lot of money. If you have suggestions, I will try this. Thanks!

lolll! I know, I'm hard to kill.. been a year I've been trying and still unsuccessful.. I'm kidding. Yeah, I like to go back to good ol' games ;). But still... this mission is impossible lolll!! I still need help with sequences of building and upgrades!
