Downloaded the demo and didnt like it at first.
I was pissed at first cause I kept getting major defeats on the demo.
Orders were a little messed up, I was getting orders to move to alot of different places at once. Take the arty positions, then the right and left flank folds and im surrounded and cut down.
Tried the demo again, This time I cut my forces in half. 2 regiments went to the Farm and 2 went to take the guns. Bad decision on my part. Not enough men to take the arty positions, not enough men to hold the farm.
Tried it again the 3rd time. Well 3rd time is the charm, Sent all 4 regiments to the Farm and set up a line of 2 regiments on the Fence line and 1 in orchard on the left and 1 on the orchard on the right. Thats the trick, Rebs advanced and my line held just. At the end I won a Major victory.
I guess in the end I liked it. Hard and it was what I was lookin for. Finally a civil war game worth the buy. After I write this thread im gonna go to gamersgate and purchase it online and download it online.
My favorite old civil war game was Sid Miers Gettysberg. Had some good times playing that game. And this game kind of reminds me of that, fun and true strategy.
