I have a problem with the game crashing, actually not really crashing but going idle on scenario loading.
I am playing China and i am around 1630, the Manchu events are taking place.
I was playing when the game crashed. As i restarted and reloaded autosave, the loading screen came up, it stopped with the bar at 90% loading.

What is the deal?

Could be the save was corrupted.
What Publisher version of the game are you playing and what patch level?
 
Well that would be a problem.
It is incompatible.

I would suggest a new game withthe 1.08 patch.

Well that would be a big problem, there is a reason for the patches, they correct problems. We do not support earlier patches after an new Official one comes out.
 
If you do not mind English text you can install 1.08
 
If you go ahead with the Italian 1.07 patch, be aware there are serious bugs in the text.csv file that cause it to crash. See http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103318 for fixes to some of them. Or if you can manage English OK then 1.08 is definitely what you should use, but you won't be able to continue your existing game in that, you'll have to start again.
 
Well he cannot contuniue his existing game anyway, that is the problem. At least with that save.
