General game Settings
The concept of this game is to have fun! Go enjoy the new map, defeat your opponents and dismember them. Make sure you are the top dog in 1820.

Rules:
  1. Obey the GM. He is your King and Absolute Ruler.
  2. The GM reserves the right to edit out the effect of a bug, when he thinks this is necessary. See rule 1.
  3. The land slider is locked at land '5' for all countries, except Portugal and the Netherlands. Portugal and the Netherlands can go to land 3. After each session I will reset the sliders to the maximum allowed position.
  4. There's a stab hit rule to prevent eternal wars:
    • If you have been at war for 5 years or more with another nation
    • and that nations sends you a stabhitting peaceoffer
    • and you are at stab -3
    • and the peace offer is based upon a warscore of -99 for you,
then you must accept the stab hit peace offer.
Note: it is recommended that you pause the game and inform your opponent that you are about to force him to a peace this way, then he can check the current WS.
  5. After each session I will edit out the vassals of each nation with centralization below level '8' and a maximum manpower pool of at least '50'. This way, high manpower nations will not profit too much from the manpower bug.
  6. Using certain exploits is forbidden. See below for more details:
General rule: if you think something is an exploit, then it is likely that it is one. When in doubt ask the GM.

The following is forbidden. The list is probably not complete.

  • Attacking an enemy fleet with pirates, as well as comparatively very small fleets, only made to inhibit loading/landing.
  • Releasing one or more vassals during wartime, to hinder an enemy.
  • Force-burning of manufactories, i.e. repeated move and halt orders to an army in a province with a manufactory.
  • Using lag to your advantage. This includes (but is not limited to): Sending lag colonists, building lag fortresses, sending lag missionaries, using lag diplomats. (The exception is using lag diplomats to send cash).
  • Declaring a 'fake' war on a country, with the aim to:
    • Increase the stability of the nation you declare war on.
    • Change the religion of a protestant or Counter-Reformed-Catholic nation back to Catholicism before the Edict of Tolerance.
  • Exploiting Simultanity: Using the game engine to break a deal, that would occur simultaneously in the real word. This includes (but is not limited to) the 'sale' of something in game.
  • Converting from Catholiscism to either Counter-reformed-Catholicism or Protestantism and then switching back to Catholiscism before the Edict of Tolerance.
  • Cancelling being the vassal of another player within 10 years, except when an event allows you to do so.
  • Avoiding the Spanish bankruptcy events, by giving/selling/ceding in a fake war/revolting away the trigger provinces to another country.
  • Trading maps with the AI.
  • Sending loans to the AI.

The following is allowed:

  • Breaking a truce, even when at negative stab.
  • Not leaving a human alliance, despite the alliance leader asking you to do so.
  • Landing armies in the port of a country you are in war with, because you still have Military Access.
  • Sacking capitals for maps
  • Stealing sieges

I'd like to join if it's ok.

That's OK, but since you have only 1 post I need to ask a few things first:

  • Do you have ICQ? If yes, please add me to your list. My ICQ # can be found in the first post of this thread.
  • Did you play multiplayer before? If not, you need to test if you can join games first. I can help you with that if you contact me at ICQ.

Ok, this is not my first multiplayer game but i can't say that i have too much experience. I have no problems in connecting.

FAL, I would love to sub in this game on those Tuesdays I don't have any teaching job (such as tomorrow). Add me to the sub list if you like, and I'll make a note to check in to the lobby on Tuesdays if I'm available. :)

All,

please make sure that Wat3K works with you in singeplayer before we start. Best thing is to copy a clean eu2 1.09 install to another directory and install the mod there.

It looks like no serious edits of the scenario are necessary. But I will give a definate response about this before saturday. Tonio needs to explain what has to be done leader wise though.

I would like to get a country list of at least 3 nations that you would like to play from everyone too. IF you absolutely don't want to play one or more countries, post that too. I try to distribute countries according to everyone's preferences.

The available countries are:

  • France
  • England
  • Castile OR Aragon, depending on your preference.
  • Venice
  • Brandenburg
  • Poland
  • Sweden OR Denmark, depending on your preference.
  • Russia
  • The Ottoman Empire
  • Austria
  • Portugal

The Dutch will be added later. Burgundy will not be played.

I will only assign countries after edits are done, to avoid any possible bias. Till then you can still change your preferences. But it's nice to know who wants to play what in advance, to check if there are overlaps and such.

It is a 1419 campaign.... with Henry V alive :D Then I go for

1. England
2. Venice (never played them in MP)
3. Portugal (extra interesting in an early campaign, will POR take the Aztekes before SPA does?)

I wonder if Tonio will choose France. He is after all the self-claimed expert on low tech warfare. :D

Besides, because I play in EGA5 where Casluerj is GM I have learned to spell this strange name. It is misspelled in post 1. Do not ask me what it means, I have no idea . But I know he lives in beautiful sunny Rio de Janeiro and probably spends his time leisurely on the Copacabana while we from Northern Europe push ourselves through blizzard and rain to work hard between 9 and 17. ;)

Daniel, you missed the post about Henry V in previous thread :p

Well, HYW situation is like in vanilla Henry V storms everything without problems. There were 3 possible solutions so far of that.
Let`s look leadersfile first:

England:
Henry V - shock 5, dies in 31.10.1422
Beachamp - shock 4
Bedford - shock 3
Talbot - shock 4 (comes 1429-1435 different versions)

France:
Earl of Buchan - comes in 1420 in EEP, shock 3
Richemont - shock 5-5-5 in vanilla, comes 01.01.1425, in EEP - 4-3-4-1
Dunois - shock 4, comes 01.01.1427
de Rais - shock 4, comes 01.01.1429, in EEP special event if he can die in 1435
Jeanne d`Arc - 5-5-5-3 in special version :) 1429-1431

So, in the long run FRA is actually better in leaders than England.... Ouch, then I switch to FRA and would like to have Tonio in England. Muahahaha :D

(Nah, only joking, I prefer England ;) )

Based on history mods gives control of north of France to England usually.
Usually Picardie controlled by Burgundy and Paris is controlled by England.

One more thing to reference on leaders - movement params.
When losing side retreating difference of morale and difference of movements is influence a lot on remaing forces. So Henry V movement 5 has very great effect when he wins the battle. I remember when two 25K cav armies fought each other - both shock 5 leaders, but movement 5 vs 3. Two days battle reduced french army from 25K to 11K - half of losses were done during retreating.

Solution 1.
Force white peace. So France won`t stand vs Henry V and will need 1 year before Richemont coming.
Minuses
- England and Burgundy lose control
- Richemont 5-5-5-1 will look uber on fresh economy of France.
- at the other side England can try annexing Burgundy for this time
rather non-fun solution for those, who likes lowtech war - you are not dropped from the start directly to the war.

Solution 2.
Hive`s AoI, based on solution 3.
He gave Auverne`s 2 provs to France, and even cede Normandie to France, giving England only control. Imho it was too pleasant for France, making their MP and army support (very important) seriously more than England, while they should be near same. France got much cav too.
France got from start two leaders - with shock 4 and shock 3. If i remember correctly, it was 3-3-4 and 4-3-3. Well, that is rather conservative setup with advantage of France mostly because of too much lands given. Summed with new MP bonus from vassal, it`s too big boost.

Solution 3.
Russian League mod, which i specially did for 1419-1550(1600) period for our cruel lowtech fighting.
French leadersfile is added by following leaders
- fantasy stats eader 'Etienne la Hire' (de Vignolles) 3-2-5 stats, he dies in same day as Henry 31.10.1422
- Earl of Buchan activated.
- if France doesn`t take back occupied provinces (it was Picardie, Paris and Champagne), they have two events +200 ducats and +10K cav (our people help us) in 01.01.1420 and 01.01.1421. That prevents them from getting too much cav at start of the scenario, while England and Burgundy needs to raise it. I would say England had slight advantage at those set, despite FRA got bonus from vassals in last betas.
So it was top leaders comparation:
01.01.1419-31.10.1422 ---- Henry 5-6-5-1 vs la Hire 3-2-5
01.09.1422-01.01.1425 ---- Beachamp 3-3-4 vs Earl of Buchan 3-3-3-1
01.01.1425 and so on ---- Beachamp 3-3-4 (later Talbot and York with shock 4) vs Richemont 4-3-4-1
That gives three period of different situation and different acting.

All these ideas are meant that England and France are fighting for the fate of France and actively use wartax and minting, so the victory with 20% inflation was even reasonable. The complete winner is usually dominating upto 1500 by income and MP.

one more notice - for our rumble we had deflations and -bb events in 1450 and 1500. Besides there were extra pack of random events

Well probably:

1.The Ottoman Empire
2.Sweden
3.Russia

I never had a chance to play the OE so early in an MP...
