Dear Turcophiles and Turcophobes,

In the never-ending quest for improvements to EU, Mssrs Greven and Suvorov (see sticky) need assistance on finding names and stats for Turkic leaders. By this, I do not mean to re-open the interminable discussion over the Ottomans, but to explore the more difficult subject of the leaders of the following nations (more may be added, keep checking):

Candar
Dulkadir
Karaman
Tekke

also, probably:
Akkoyunlu
Karakoyunlu.

I would guess that we need to locate leaders for these countries in the immediate pre-1400 period, as well as Ottoman leaders who may have come from these countries, and also we need to consider the events post-1402 too.

Any takers?

That will be a hard work, but i will take a look at it tomorow. To late now to do research (3:42)

I have already emailed Greven a list of monarchs for Candar, Dulkadir, Karaman and Teke. Unfortunately, finding leaders proved to be a much more difficult task. The main problem is that in most Turkic tribal states, the leaders of the army were either the heads or members of the "royal" household. Hence, you won't find many "pashas" and the like in any of these beyliks. As you might have noticed, exceptional military leaders who were -not- Osmanoglu by blood begin to emerge once the Ottomans state transforms itself from a tribal confederation to an empire. That is not to say that there were none at all--just not that many. Nonetheless, Karamans are the most promising of the four. Once I'm done with the Ottoman event list, I'll try my best to come up with some names.
