Hello all, two things I've discovered that are probably not intended. One is a true "bug" and the other is just a flaw in the AI, I think.

First, if you have a unit moving from one location to another and it is eliminated due to a lack of supplies, then you are left with an "armor" counter that moves very quickly (maybe this only happens when you use counters?). It will die at the beginning of the next day UNLESS you immediately send it on the move. If it moves continuously, it won't die unless it happens upon an enemy counter. The "bug" is that the super-fast armor unit can capture unprotected province. I used one to capture most of Africa in a matter of weeks.

Second, in the 1936 game, when Germany is controlled by the AI, Germany runs out of steel around August of 1936 and her economy grinds down to a halt. That's no fun to play against! Germany has plenty of other resources to trade -- there's no reason it has to run out of steel so soon.

Thanks!

Well for the second 'bug': That was one of the reasons why Germany conquered Europe. They needed those resources to keep their enormous industry up and running.
Conquering the balkans would be your way to go since you get every stockpile of resources of each nation you annex. And if you are at war you can't trade that good. You will always get less of what you intend for.

A good thing is to go for England because they have a lot of resources and are easy to get. First land in Belfast to annex ireland, plant their some anti air infantry and engineer infantry and mountainers. Drop paratroopers in scotland (the mountain province) to get the harbour and send in your new units from ireland by ship. Now await their attack (they will) and then send in your artillery infantry (or tanks). This way you can easily conquer england. And they have a lot of resources. ;)

Well, yes, if I were *playing* Germany, then I might consider annexing everything in sight. But I'm currently playing Italy, and annexing small bits at a time. The problem is that Germany, as controlled by the AI, runs out of steel before it has to. Their economy can only run at full steam for eight months? That doesn't sound right.

This is why most mods have events to simulate various bilateral trade deals with Germany such as the Swedish iron ore (steel). Vanilla HoI has events for Romanian oil and a convoy from Sweden to Germany IIRC but the AI Sweden will usually cancel the convoy quickly I think.

1) Is anyone else getting the return of the ghost units? OR units that want to commit seppuku in the desert? Please confirm which it is.

2) After 1 game? Are others getting breakdowns in industry for the AI? Please state game scenario, nation, date, and any other pertinent info.
