Hi folks,

1. Which is the least laggy way to set up a game among 3 or 4 friends -- direct internet connection or vNet?

2. With a group of 2-4 people, what combination of players would you recommend play which countries? I keep reading that people think it's tough for the Axis to win, so one possibility is for all of us to play co-op as Axis countries or sympathizers. But I'd rather play against a human than "with" one -- I can play against the AI any time. Are there optimal combinations for a balanced game with this relatively small number of people?

Thanks. Do you have any advice about whether to try vNet or a direct internet connection?
It shouldn't make much difference as VNet hooks you up in the same way as the internet option. VNet can be a bit flaky sometimes though so you might use VNet to get started and then use internet joins after that. Not that clients remember the last host they were connected to so the internet option works well for rehosting a game whn you have enough players.

I suggest:

2 players - UK and Germany
3 players - UK, Germany and Italy
4 players - UK, Germany, France and Japan

You should leave the big boys of USA and SU to the AI as this gives the best chance of keeping them out of the general war until a roighly historical date. If played by a human they will come too fast and stong and so not give the AXis enough time to become a credible threat.
