1847 - 1849

1847 - first railroads:

1848 - join Austria against rebelling Venetia and Lombardia. We lost 25 prestige points because of not helping Italian brothers (that was not our problem). The conscuence was a war against Papal state and Piedmont too:

Hungary declared independence, but that did not stop Austrian troops crashing the revolution in the nothern Italy:

Rome surrendered, giving us Perugia and Ferrara to Austria:

Once the war in Italy was over, we joined Hungarian war (on Austrian side, of course)

1849 - finishing the railroad system (the debt is large, but it will be repaid in several years):

This year ended all our alliances. Relations with Spain and France are still good, but no more support from their side. Austria is formally our ally until the end of the Hungarin war:

And, here is a short overview of our production:

Crimean war was short and did not change anything on the map:

Two Sicilies was at peace during all this period. Military was strenghten by two new infantry-guard divisions and new workers and clerks were sent to the factories. The relations with France and Austria were improved a lot, but still no aliance was signed.

The best news was that Two Sicilies got the status of a great power (I have no idea why):

GAME OVER

I was kicked out of this game because of Garibaldi event.

First I said "Never" to his victory, just to see ALL my divisions joining the enemy and the end of the game few days later.

Then I reloaded and said "Accept" his victory - and that was automatically game over.

All that because I just lost one province, while still having about 80,000 soldiers in Naples ready to fight.

Improving relations with FRA and AUS before this war did not help anything, because everything was ruined by the events. Relations to both of them droped below -120.

Is there any way going through this scenario WITHOUT annexing Piedmont at the very beginning of the game ???

1860

OK. I have found one way, but very costly. I reloaded the game and declared war to Piedmont FIRST. That of course led to the war against France. I was fully defeated, loosing all provinces in Italy except my capital. But, finally, France offered the following peace: one province in Brunei and satellite status. That wa accepted. My prestige is almost -200, but the game continues. One goal is acomplished: there is still NO Italy.

Look at my sig under The Apulian Persons Project

1868

OK. Now, we have a revolution, in order to institute Constitutional Monarchy, go through revolution and loose satellite status:

1869

In fact, the Monarchy was reestablished in counter-revolution:

And, the only way to get my prestige back is WAR:

1871

After defeating Toscana and getting 2 provinces (it was imposible to capture Firence), our prestige is improved a bit and France signed with us defense pact:

Expanding to Arabia:

At the end my badboy is 7.25, while prestige is 217 (not bad taking into account that it was -150).

Relations with some of great powers are OK: France(+120), Austria(+93), UK(+98), Spain(+24).

I have no allies. However, other great powers are busy declaring wars to each other:

- France against UK
- Russia + Greece against Ottoman Empire (Serbia was annexed)

In 1896, we expanded Arabian possessions:
