As the title says. The game doesn't launch from the Steam launcher after Steam reinstall. The binary launches fine, so there shouldn't be any problems with my system or the game itself.

What I've tried:
-Clean reinstall
-Launcher reinstall
-Installed official (non-snap) version of Steam

What kind of GPU do you have and which drivers and opengl version are you using for it? The log files indicate that eu4 fails to use opengl. Maybe there is an environment variable which has to be set to use the correct GPU/driver/opengl implementation (e.g. in a hybrid system). You could also try to change the line multi_sampling=4 to multi_sampling=0 in the settings.txt. That has helped in a few cases on Linux, but I think the error messages have been different

I was on Nvidia and this worked, thanks!
It's still pretty strange that the launcher overrides the settings, though, right? I mean the binary itself launched fine.
I don't think it is the launcher is responsible here. But you could test it by starting the launcher from the command line(dowser executable) and then eu4 from the launcher.
It is more likely that steam is impacting the game in some way. Have you selected any tool in the compatibility section of the eu4 properties in the steam library? You could also try if it helps if you disable the steam overlay. Did you configure your nvidia drivers in some way? Maybe that configuration is not active when you run eu4 from steam. You could try to start steam from the command line to see if that helps.
