[Ubuntu] [Steam] EUIV used to run flawlessly but after reinstalling it crashes silently without reaching the launcher

I used to play EUIV a lot. After a one-year hiatus I installed the game again on Steam.

I click on "Play" > Select launch option "Play Europa Universalis IV" > "Launching" appears > A few seconds later the button reverts to "Play" and nothing happens (the launcher doesn't show up).

I followed the instructions given on this forum but to no avail:

- I have no mods installed.
- I'm using the native Linux build (no Proton compatibility tool).
- Restart the computer.
- Do a full reinstall of the game (manually deleting all Paradox/eu4 folders).
- Verify integrity of the game.

I did the previous steps several times but the launcher never shows up.

I see that you are using the snap version of steam. That sometimes causes problems. Can you try the official .deb package from https://store.steampowered.com/about ?
