I'm currently in a MP-game with with England, Spain and France, where I am playing france. I am protestant.

Now, to the questions...

#1 My little french army of about 2000 brave men were adventuring down in the northern parts of South America. Then suddenly, a guy called Cortez comes along with about 8000 evil spaniards slaying the innocent french.

Now, as the French in this game has gone protestant, the ToT shouldn't be in effect. And, France and Spain ain't at war. How come the spanish could attack French ?

And that this mean that Spain can march into nice French colonies in South America/Caribean too, without DoW???

Is there a list/table anywhere that shows when, and how much, Colonial Dynamism nations get? (On the INET, I lost my manual ages ago)

First question: according to Treaty of Tordesillas, the new world is divided between Portugal and Spain, Portugal getting Brazil and everything east of it, Spain getting both Americas (Americas until gulf of Mexico in EU), exept Brazil. This treaty gives both Spanish and Portugese right to attack any other nation in this area and take over trade posts/colonies without declaring war. Note that this applies to catholic nations only and Treaty of Tordesillas is cancelled with Edict of Tolerance (around 1600). Try having large forces in your colonies and build fortresses asap.

But, the thing is that I'm Protestant, (so I give sh*t about what Pope says about the world) but the Spaniards still could attack my forces...
