As it stands, the UI has a lot of empty space (in the case of small families and realms that have few titles, diplomatic relations and claims), and the beautiful portraits that are a standout feature of CK3 are small, and hidden in the top left corner of the screen so as to remove them from the gameplay.

I've put together an alternative UI which imagines that players have the ability to collapse windows (parents, children, siblings, the duchy bar expanding titles, claims and diplomacy) in order to have larger character portraits (as these are expanded, they "crawl" up the window to cover character portraits). The entire family window could also be collapsible (in addition or instead of individual family member lists).

I would imagine the collapsible windows being able to be toggled on and off so players don't have to keep doing it it when they click on a new lord, and so they can decide what information they want to see as they click between realms (if you're searching for characters, you'll want to collapse the titles and diplomacy window and keep the characters tab open, the reverse if you're more interested in war and diplomacy).
