I am playing a game as UK and just reached Jan 41. I typically assume military control of the UK allies (Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand) after the fall of France and begin shipping divisions to Africa. (With Core this will also include India) However, I discovered in late 40 that not one of the allies has a single transport in their navy. Each have various numbers of cruisers and destroyers deplyed, and most are producing additional CL and DD, but none have even one TP in their navies or even have one in production. Is this a 1.3b AI issue or a Core issue?

Also, at the start of the scenario, the uk did not possess a single transport. Sort of makes me wonder how they deployed all those garrisons in the Med. =)

I'm playing UK and its mid '40 at the moment. New Zealand has built some transports so I'm using them to transport both theirs and the Oz Infantry.

Your right about the UK not having any transports at the start though, bit wierd, especially as before the war/right techs or whatever it takes a year to build 1! I delayed building trans thinking their might be an event where I take over cruise liners or something, so I've started the war with just 6 trans.

There are going to be events added in at a later date which gives the UK their historical liners. There will also be events for Canada, Germany, France and the US. MDow

The Australians should get HMAS Kanimbla, HMAS Westralia and HMAS Manoora in 1943. All were refitted as infantry landing ships.

KANIMBLA is the second RAN ship to carry the name. KANIMBLA I was a fast cruiser requisitioned and converted to an armed merchant cruiser for the Royal Navy during World War I I . In 1943, she was further converted to an infantry landing ship and commissioned into the RAN.

After reaching Melbourne she remained there until the 17 April when she departed escorting a convoy to Noumea, returning to Sydney on the 27th. She made another trip to Noumea in May, escorting the minelayer HMAS BUNGAREE. In June she refitted in Sydney then proceeded to Fremantle to escort a convoy to Sydney. Further escort duties between Sydney and Fremantle followed until 30 September when she arrived in Sydney to begin conversion to a Landing Ship Infantry (LSI).

In December she berthed at Sydney, bringing her career as an Armed Merchant Cruiser to a close. Between 9 February and 25 June 1943 WESTRALIA was undergoing conversion to a Landing Ship Infantry at Sydney. A period of training exercises at Port Stephens followed before she began operations transporting United States Marines to Goodenough Island in September. The remainder of the year was spent in landing exercises and transport of troops to Goodenough Island and the operations at Arawe, New Britain.

The ships that are going to be added are pre-existing ships in 1936, but are still being used for the commercial purposes. We aren't going to script the completion of every ship that was completed. MDow
