This was a known bug on pc ver. on 2.8.x. However I couldn't find if/when this was fixed.

Is this something that's occuring on Console Edition as well? What platform? Do you have any screenshots?

The problem has appeared again.


One screenshot shows 19 ships (Corvettes) ready for retrofitting.
The second and third are the fleet manager.
The upgrade is zero point reactors which need to be manual applied to federation ship presets, despite having auto-upgrade checked. Not only that once retrofitted the rest of the fleet will be able to follow suit once the initial upgrades have be carried out. I overlooked this previously as I was unaware of its importance.
I'll provide a screenshot for that once the fleet returns home

Edit: Only the Corvettes have been retrofitted. Destroyers and Cruisers have no option to do the same. Last three screenshots are mid-upgrade followed by it's results, and post-upgrade.

Edit2: Updating ship presets cause an entirely different ship to be created despite sharing the same name. Screenshot provided uses a Destroy class ship (one with auto-upgrade applied and the other disabled)

Lol what a lame excuse. Fleet manager should be flaw free as much as possible hence why bug report. Not playing the game fixes this bug report forum as well but do we want that?
What exactly are you talking about? What I stated is simply a bypass untill this is fixed. ( I've read ya post multiple times and I'm still confused as to what you're talking about...)

Maybe check the ship design of a ship within the fleet (after selecting the fleet from the map/galaxy) and see if it's worked. Not too sure what the issue is
The issue its self is minor at best, and you're on the right track.
When you use the fleet manager to creat an composition of the fleet it creates a "ghost preset" which is unaffected by updateding any presets. That was causing the ships from being retrofited. This screenshot confirmed that suspicion
