EDIT: Problem solved - uninstalled, deleted all relevant entries in my registry, then installed the Windows runtime thing mentioned in another post, then reinstalled and it all worked fine.
Hi There,
I have a registered copy of Rome Gold, which includes Vae Victis. Having just installed it on a new desktop PC, I checked for updates and downloaded the latest Vae Victis patch. But when I ran the setup, it aborted, telling me that Vae Victis isn't installed - but it is!
Well, I thought I'd start the game anyway to see what would happen. The game loaded OK, but on quitting I got an error message, saying the Rome.exe had encountered a problem and had to exit.
I wonder what the problem can be? I got a brand-new PC and the game is straight out of the box, having bought it from Amazon.
I also had a problem when I installed EUIII on the new PC. I tried to download and install In Nomine from Gamersgate. But when I ran the In Nomine setup, it aborted, telling me that In Nomine was already installed - which it isn't!
Could someone help?
Many thanks for your time.
