This is a project that will be a community led mod that will hopefully encompass all of the talent of the current modders of EU:Rome. As you can see there are already a good amount of mods out there, but imagine if all those good modders got together and all of the best ideas they could muster got put into one mod. :D After seeing much discussion about a unified mod that unifies all of the modders, I have deemed it necessary for at least an attempt at this. I have already gotten the permission of Battlecry for the full use of his abilities and his mod, Rome: Enhanced, and I hope that many of the modders in this community will put aside any differences they have and come together to form one super-mod.

Most of the decisions on the mod will be made democratically, so no one person has the power to decide what goes into the mod and what does not. The reason for this mod is to get the best of all the modders that are out there, and have all of the talents of the modding community be put into one mod.

I have already posted this idea in the thread "what about a CORE type thingy", and I hope that this can come to fruition.

Please help, If anybody has any questions please pm me :D .

As soon as we have enough participants, voting should, I think, begin on what aspects are to be modded - i.e. historical events, or leave it without; revised battle system or not; new countries or not etc etc - in order to create a preliminary outline of the goals and/or limits of this mod.

I completely agree, I have already pm-ed Jane Doe and The Land to see if they would like to join. Oh, and congratulations :D .

partially because I soon won't have the time - getting married in August,
for that :D

Oh, thanks. Hopefully I'll survive the whole thing. I'm not sure how many times I can find a nice way to say "I don't give a rats arse what colour the flowers are!"

Well I'm in. All of my modding work has been wholly incorporated into R:E, and all of my future work is planned to go straight there as well, so that's fair game along with the rest of R:E.

Thankyou antimatter.

P.S. I have created a forum were people will always be able to reach me. It is in my sig.

Went ahead and registered on your new forums, sounds like a great idea.

My view remains that there are, basically, going to be different views about the directions mods should take.

So while there will be a lot of productive dialogue between different modders, as there already has been, I don't see "one big mod" as being the way forward.

At the moment we have a very friendly modder culture here where ideas, research, comments and even event-strings are freely exchanged between mods. I hope this cotinues!

A tip from working on Kaiserreich (where we were less organised I admit), you might want to elect a project leader/integrator to handle the bringing together of mod elements :)

That could be true, the amalgamated project should probably take decisions about this direction at start - I'd suggest an MMG style of approach ;)

Yeah I'll second that idea. There needs to be someone with a good overall view of the mod for integration purposes, and also just to remember everything thats in there already (which after a dozen or so versions, becomes more difficult than you might think) without having to constantly refer to changelogs.

I'd suggest an MMG style of approach
Care to elaborate? How did MMG decide on such things?

Edit: Woohoo...just made Major. End excitement.

How about naming it Rome: Reinvisioned ^_^ ? It sounds like a nice name...

The expansion will be Europa Universalis:Rome:pax Romana. Kinda like how HOI got to be Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday: Armageddon.

They never made the further planned expansion Apocalypse.

Tell me more...

It was to expanded the timeline from the end of the Vietnam war (75) thru the defeat of Ivan Drago by Rocky Balboa (85), the official end of the Cold War. It was to feature a new scenario 'Red Dawn' where the entire Soviet Army takes on a bunch of high school kids in the Mid-West and are soundly defeated.

Also, it added another new feature to naval combat.

Doomsday added the Light Carrier, a magic weapon which teleported your bttleships adacent to enemy aircraft carriers.

Armaggedon added the Fire Control Brigade, which meant that your light and heavy cruisers became invincible.

Apocalypse added a Win Button to the naval combat screen, which eliminated all the enemy units to save you the trouble of using the exploits introduced in previous 'improvements'.
